Let’s look at Saturday's stakes action spanning three circuits, and the biggest storylines come out of Saratoga, where the Bowling Green (G2) and Caress (G2) delivered contrasting pace scenarios with real Breeders' Cup stakes attached.

Ole Crazy Bone survived a late lunge from British invader Fort George to win the Bowling Green by a nose, punching his ticket to the "Win and You're In" Kentucky Turf Cup (G2) on the Breeders' Cup Turf trail. Hours earlier, Movin' On Up timed a last-to-first move perfectly in the Caress after an intense pace up front unraveled favorites Sunna and stablemate In Our Time.

Elsewhere, Leading Change turned back Our Moneyman by a neck in the Indiana Derby (G3) at Horseshoe Indianapolis, while Navajo Warrior wired the field in the Prairie Meadows Cornhusker H. (G3). Last year's Kentucky Oaks (G1) heroine Good Cheer made a winning return in Iowa, and Bob Baffert's unbeaten Mizumi needed a late rally to survive the Iowa Oaks.

Bowling Green (G2) — Saratoga

Ole Crazy Bone, the 7-5 favorite for trainer Mike Maker and jockey Flavien Prat, controlled a slow pace on the front end and held off Fort George's late charge to win by a nose in 2:14.18 for 1 3/8 miles on the firm turf. Minaret Station edged clear for third. The win keeps Ole Crazy Bone on course for a title defense in the Kentucky Turf Cup (G2) at Kentucky Downs, a Breeders' Cup Turf "Win and You're In."

Caress (G2) — Saratoga

Movin' On Up rallied from last to beat favored In Our Time and Zeitlos, winning by 1 1/4 lengths in 1:01.04 for the Saffie Joseph Jr. barn and jockey Tyler Gaffalione. She paid $12.62 to win. It was the first Grade 2 victory for the mare, a $35,000 claim, and 90-year-old owner Ken Ramsey was on hand for the win.

Indiana Derby (G3) — Horseshoe Indianapolis

Bet down to 1-2, Leading Change turned back Our Moneyman by a neck in a stretch duel, going 1 1/16 miles in 1:41.36 for trainer Brad Cox and jockey Irad Ortiz Jr. Out of the Woods held third. In the companion Indiana Oaks (G3), 5.50-1 chance Maximum Offer wired the field for Kenny McPeek, winning by 2 1/2 lengths over Betty's Pearl, with 6-5 favorite Prom Queen unplaced.

Cornhusker H. (G3) — Prairie Meadows

Navajo Warrior, the 8-5 favorite for trainer Saffie Joseph Jr. and jockey Micah Husbands, led throughout and drew off to a 3 1/2-length win in 1:48.07. Bullard was second, followed by Gigante.

Iowa Derby & Iowa Oaks — Prairie Meadows

J J Grey held off a late rally to win the Iowa Derby by 1 3/4 lengths in 1:43.17 ($5 win) for trainer Ken McPeek, with Bob Baffert's favored Desert Gate finishing fourth after a slow start. In the Iowa Oaks, Baffert's unbeaten Mizumi looked beaten before rallying to defeat Brooklyn Blonde by 1 1/4 lengths in 1:43.54.

Iowa Distaff — Prairie Meadows

Good Cheer, last year's Kentucky Oaks (G1) winner, returned from a quiet sophomore season to win as the 1-5 favorite for trainer Brad Cox, drawing off by five lengths in 1:43.71 under Luis Saez.

Looking ahead: Saratoga hosts the $500,000 Diana (G1) and Coronation Cup (G3) this Saturday, with Chad Brown sending out four of the seven Diana entrants, including Grade 1 winners Portfolio Duration and Segesta.
