Race 5, Post Time 5:30 pm ET
CHERUBIM was a well kept secret in his second career start, drawing off late to win by over three lengths at odds of 20-1. That race was validated when Chelios, the second place finisher, came right back to win his next start. Chelios defeated RPRETTYBOYFLOYD, who is also in the San Vicente even though a maiden after two starts. RPRETTYBOYFLOYD has run second both times; in his first start he finished behind Bayern, who was dominant in winning an allowance race on Thursday. PAPA TURF looks like a horse that will appreciate the added distance. He lost by four and one-quarter lengths in the San Pedro last out, but was nearly three lengths clear of the third place horse. KOBE'S BACK has run three time and has been well bet in every start. He broke his maiden at first asking then was second to the talented Shared Belief in the Hollywood Prevue three months ago. After a disappointing finish in the Cash Call, KOBE'S BACK is, well, back, and drew a cozy outside post in the field of six. He looks to have been working well over the track in the mornings and is interesting if bet. The final leg of the pick 4 and pick-5, this race looks like an "all" type in any multi-leg wager.
