Race 1: JETBIRD drops from three maiden special weight races and is the one to beat in the pick-5 opener. FAST MOKA TOO makes her first start since April 2012 and would be interesting if bet. HOLLYWOOD ICON has a chance to upset.
Race 2: Five geldings go one mile on the turf and four of the five look to have a shot. CRAVING CARATS is the 9-5 morning line favorite with HOG'S HOLLOW and ANTHINGSCOOKIN next. MIND THE MINISTER is 4-1 on the line for his first run since June 2013.
Race 3: KEY VISTA may be a single from the Bob Baffert barn on the drop in class. The Cal-bred mare has only run four times since her debut in December 2012 so she obviously has some issues. This race should unfold at a pretty quick clip early, which will help the chances of SISTER ESPERANZA, another layoff runner. WOEBEGON gets in light and may have one more good start in her.
Race 4: ROMAN TIZZY and RIGHT ON SCHEDULE are the two to focus on in race four, a two-turn race maiden claimers. FEARSOME CHARISMA rates a long shot look from off the pace on a day that could be very chalky.
Race 5: MELANISTIC has a pace advantage over her rivals in this one mile allowance race and can take them wire to wire. The five-year-old mare has won 10 of her 31 career races including four-for-ten at Santa Anita. PROUD VIXEN and INCLUDE THE CAT can be included on the pick-5 wager as well.
