Scully’s Breeders’ Cup Saturday Pick 4 plays

Saturday’s nine-race Breeders’ Cup slate includes a pair of Pick 4s on Races 4-7 and 9-12 and I will take a swing with multiple tickets on each sequence.

Here are the horses I will be using in the first Pick 4:

Race 4: Valdorna is one of my best bets on Saturday and I will single her on the main ticket. I will spread on the back-up with Yellow Agate, Union Strike and American Gal.

Race 5: Lady Eli and Seventh Heaven are strictly the ones to beat. I’ll add Sea Calisi, Sentiero Italia, Queen’s Trust and Nuovo Record to the mix on the main ticket.

Race 6: Masochistic benefits from the defection of Lord Nelson and will be singled on the back-up ticket. A.P. Indian and Limousine Liberal appear to have a serious chance if the favorite falters.

Race 7: A contentious field of 14 is set for the Turf Sprint. I will use all three Euros – Home of the Brave, Karar and Washington DC – along with A Lot and Om on both tickets.

Thoughts on the second Pick 4:

Race 9: Flintshire is the most likely winner in my estimation and I will single him on a ticket. Found, Highland Reel, Mondialiste and Ulysses will be used on the other ticket.

Race 10: Gloryzapper is my upset selection and I will also use Tara’s Tango, By The Moon, Carina Mia and Irish Jasper on my tickets.

Race 11: I will use a quartet – Alice Springs, Tepin, Ironicus and Limato – on the ticket with Flintshire singled and narrow with Alice Springs and Limato on the other.

Race 12: California Chrome is my top choice and it will be interesting to see how low his price is at post time. I’ll also use Shaman Ghost, Hoppertunity and Arrogate as savers.
