Selections for juvenile stakes at Churchill Downs on June 26

A pair of black-type races for the juveniles are part of a monstrous card at Churchill Downs on Saturday. And I have a fairly solid opinion in both of the dashes.

Race 8 -- Debutante S.
A field of 10 two-year-old fillies will go six panels on the dirt featuring a few fine prospects. I prefer outer post slots for juvenile races in general, so my major focus will be on a pair of fillies that have drawn well off the rail.
#7 Behave Virginia (9-2) overcame the rail and an early duel to win going away at first asking for McPeek. Daughter of freshman sire Unified came home in swift fashion in her 5 1/2-furlong bow, and she comes in with a pair of sharp half-mile morning drills, as well. I will give her the edge in her first stakes venture.
#8 Ontheonesandtwos (5-2) was very professional in her debut tally on the course for Norm Casse. The chestnut daughter of Jimmy Creed got the better of a pair of nice youngsters in that dash, and she is eligible to improve for sure in her second lifetime outing. Florent Geroux retains the mount.
I will include both of the two-year-olds in my multi-race wagers.
Race 9 -- Bashford Manor S. (G3)
I liked the effort from the Todd Pletcher-trained #8 Double Thunder (4-1) in scoring at 4 1/2 furlongs at Monmouth Park in his initial showing. The gray son of Super Saver got a tricky rail assignment in that heat and did well with it, edging clear late from a stubborn foe. He will be in range throughout with John Velazquez in the controls and a single on many of my slips.
#1 Vodka N Water (6-1) has been runner-up in each of his trio of races to date. Kentucky Juvenile S. second-placer has proven capable of passing horses in the lane, and it wouldn’t surprise me if he capped the exacta late to be bridesmaid for a fourth straight time. Jose Ortiz picks up the mount.
