Solid Field for Sooner State Stakes at Remington Park
Live racing action continues past Saturday's 142nd Run for the Roses at Remington Park. The Oklahoma City racetrack will present the $100,000 Sooner State Stakes (G1). The 400 yard feature attracted a field of nine.

Ajs High headlines Saturday's Sooner State Stakes at Remington Park Saturday night
The favorite is multiple stakes winner Ajs High, the Oklahoma-bred son of Apollitical Jess. Now 4-years-old, Ajs High has won 10 of his 15 career starts, bankrolling an impressive $403,000. Winner of the AQHA John Deere Challenge Championship as a 2-year-old and finalist in last year's Adequan Challenge Championship, he is undefeated this year with two stakes wins at Remington. Regular rider Stormy Smith rides and looks to add to his record so far this year which includes victories in the $50,000 Eastex Stakes and $70,000 Mr Jet Moore at Remington Park.
Several runners in the Mr Jet Moore will attempt to turn the tables on Ajs High. Sam Crow, a very talented son of Valiant Hero ran second, but has the back class to do more damage. The Trey Wood trainee was the runner-up to Apollitical Blood in the $2.3-million All-American Derby at Ruidoso Downs last September. AQHA Champion jockey, Ricky Ramirez, has the call and will break from the far outside post.
Regally Rare, Bringin the Gray and Specials Jess and Rocketair all have good credentials. The lone mare in the field is Sudden Separation, who was a dominant winner of the $126,000 Merial Distaff Challenge last November at Lone Star Park. She will be making her first start of 2016 under rider James Flores.
Remington Park will begin their live card at 3:45 pm (Central) on Kentucky Derby Day. The Sooner State Stakes will run as the 11th race on the 12-race card.
