Something for Everyone

September 2nd, 2016

The weekend is upon us once again here at bestbet Jacksonville, and to our chagrin, we have cards loaded with talent over 550, 660, and even 770 yards. Loads of great greyhounds to wager on, and no matter your personal preference, we have you covered in our feature races. Want All-American, Big Name Runners, Win Streakers, Spot Plays, Rising Stars, or even some Longshots, you will have a chance to cash in on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday here at bestbet.

Let’s take a closer look at the fantastic races we have on tap for you and see if we can get you cashing some tickets and taking home some cash this weekend in our feature events.

Friday Evening September 2nd, 2016 –

Race 7 – Tough to pick against a greyhound with 5 wins in 6 races, so we won’t. No matter the post, no matter the lead, Real Good Feelin will find a way to drive by late and take home yet another big W for DQ. Making her work late will be the well posted, solid A, great early speeder Kc’s Todd. A bit off his break as of late, I think the box gets him back in the mix. Also watch out for the recent grade A ship in from Flagler Ben Affleck, and the great posted always trying threat Atascocita Sully. (5-1-7-2)

Race 11 – Great battle up front in this effort. No doubt in my mind that the best breaker at the racetrack will have the front end from the 1 box in this one. Cj’s Sadie is a monster from the start but she pays for it late and will once again in this effort. Look for her to set the pace to the stretch, but late she will be a caught near the wire again. Now who is going to do the catching? Flying Rose! Well posted, solid grade A, that has enough early to be in the conversation and enough late to get it done at the wire. Don’t sleep on the latch charging Miss Margie or Masqueradeball either, both could upset if they decided to get in the mix early tonight. (8-1-5-3)

Race 15 – Over to 770, and not just any 770, a grade TA 770 race. Once again in the middle of this race is the track record holder for this distance, Herstal. Not only did she post up a stellar time once, she won her last marathon by 7 lengths in a total romp. Much of that field returns here and I expect an encore performance. Showing early speed C Ville C Alice and Atascocita Warm both have won races over 770 before and either could be a threat to do it again in this effort. Both can be run down late and overtaken will be the word of the day again in this effort. Fiesta Bonker might to run even further as he can close with the best of them over 660 and 770 yards. Well posted here, he will blur up at the wire and get into the mix at the finish line. (4-3-2-6)

Saturday Matinee September 3rd, 2016 –

Race 7 – Post and class make a winner in this race. Easi Charlie has been rounding back into form with every start, and today from the 8 box, she will get back up late for her 3rd win in her last 5 starts. PUPPY POWER! Dueling throughout with the leader will be Tough to Much, if he wants to run, along with Craigie O’Malley from an ideal post position. Both greyhounds have the skills to win, but everyone better pay attention to Kanes Bubba as well. I know she might have been a step of two off of her game in her last couple of races, but you can’t ignore her closing ability and the 3 race win streak lurking back in her past 6 lines. All in all, this race could turn very interesting at the finish line if they all decided to run. (8-3-6-1)

Race 11 – Consistency is the key to success for Julian Of Ruckus won has won 4 of 6 races and has finished below 31 seconds in 6 trips in a row. A quick start is also something that has littered those great efforts, and today, from a good outside post, where she has won 3 times in 6 races, she will have a clear lane to rush to the turn in and prove best all the way to the wire. Another well posted greyhound here is Boc’s Andross. Clearly a different greyhound from the rail, Andross get the red blanket in this one and should be extra tough. Another solid breaker and rusher, this could be a battle royal from the get go. Both greyhound will have to work hard though as the solid grade A closing threat Lee Tuco, and the recent grade A winner, Sassy’s Brandy will be doing their best to ruin the best laid plans of the leaders today. (8-1-6-3)

Saturday Evening September 3rd, 2016 –

Race 3 – You know when there is a grade A race in the 3rd, you have a really nice card in the making. Saturday evening, that is just what has happened. Here you get not only a strong field, but the strongest competitor that we have at the racetrack. Seldom Told got back to winning last time out with a strong closing effort in the stretch and he will need another on here to run down all the early rail speed that is lurking. His advantage is his natural ability that will shine through late once again in this effort and put him over the edge at the wire. Pushing the pace and at least making him up his game a little will be the dynamic rushing duo of Craigie Testify and Ln Sugar from the rail. Both have early speed, both can steal the lead, both can hold on every now and then, but both are no match for the raw talent Seldom Told brings in this race. Another to consider is Kanes Mini. She likes the outside and should be around the leaders for the majority of this race. (5-1-2-6)

Race 5 – It might not be a grade A event, but it is a marathon, the second on the weekend, and we will take a look at this highly contested event. What an evenly matched up field, so you have to go with class, speed, and talent, so Braska Smoothie it is. She is just down from grade B, she loves to break over 770, and has a grade C win showing! Questions? Nope! Behind her and making a case for themselves in this race will be the recent winner, and 770 darling, why do they not bet her, Pat C Chimera. Sure she can be short on occasions, but all she does is win over 770! Tonight she will look for back to back jacks. Penske Proud also gets a notice as she is best over this distance and just missed two starts back from a similar post position. Shez Ali can close from way, way, way off the pace and will be screaming up late again here. Too little, too late, but it will be enough for a spot in the superfecta at the wire. (5-7-8-4)

Race 7 – What more could you ask for than a pair of 2016 stakes winners matching up in a heated battle on Saturday evening? Ln Houdini is back in rare form as he has won 4 straight and gets another advantageous outside post position in this race. He has been a rushing fool and no one around is going to deny the lead in this race from here. He will not be alone though as Hey Hey Daddy draws a great post as well inside and might have other plans for the other stakes winners. Last time out from this post, she won by almost 6 in a box to wire romp in a blistering 30.28 clocking. Could she do it again? Yes! Will she? That remains to be seen, but play them in the quiniela and cash some tickets. Others to consider under on your wagers include the speedy breaking threat Roc A By Sunkist and the cagey stakes veteran C Ville Wynter. (7-3-2-8)

Race 11 – Over to 660 for this race and another stakes winner for you to look at. Pat C Outbounds might have won the puppy stakes over 550, but it seems that she has taken well to the added distance as she prepares for the upcoming $50,000 Orange Park Derby. After a pair of 4th place finishes, she has scored back to back winning efforts from off the pace. Posted well inside for the third straight trip, she completes the hat-trick tonight. Wiley 660 veteran, and 2016 bestbet Derby finalist, Kk Whitezin is always around the leaders at the wire and tonight she will not deviate from that plan. She has not finished out of the money in 6 starts and will continue that streak in this effort. Posted well, she threatens at the finish line. Also keep an eye out for the pair of solid grade A greyhounds. Sheezsohot is a converted router that can go 660 with the best of them and draws a great rail post again her, and C Ville Hope has a niche for finding her way into the superfecta at the finish line. Midtrack as well as she can be, watch for more of the same in this effort. (3-7-2-4)

Race 15 – Another 660 race on the card as we get to see the fastest of the fast over this distance in action. Barts Risingstar is a blistering runner that can punish fields if he gets clear early on in his efforts. His 37.00 has to be the fastest 660 time I have seen in several years, and he might just do it again tonight from a great outside post position. He is as fast as he wants to be and no lead is safe here. Even without the front end, which I think he will not have, he runs them all down to win. Setting the pace should be Shutthefrontdoor and C Ville Clone. Both have exceptional early speed, but both pay for it late in the race and are short in the stretch. Watch for them to battle for control, and surrender late in this effort. Don’t sleep on Kc’s Shelly either. This greyhound might be a bit over her head class wise, but she has steadily improved, draws a great starting spot, and has turned in some impressive wins and times. If she gets loose, she could contend for a spot in the super at the wire. (7-5-3-2)

Sunday Matinee September 4th, 2016 –

Race 11 – Last but not least on the weekend is out grade A monster sprint featuring Godzilla! Godzilla Who is an early speed machine that gets a good starting box in this race. Away from the crowd, I expect for him to come out running and get to the front end and take over command in this effort. Being a matinee, expect for him to hold strong throughout as there no really big closers in this field to get to him before the wire. Lasting gamely, he gets it done. Applying pressure is a solid running and chasing grade A threat Lee Raven. In the super in 4 straight, more of the same comes your way in this effort. Rising star Rt Spicy Praline is back in grade A and looking to make an impression here against a talented field. The post doesn’t help much, but being off a win, she should use the confidence to contend. Kc’s Tammy is the other greyhound to consider. Rising up the ranks, she looks to improve on her first effort in grade A. With a good mix of early and late foot, she too has a shot to make the money in this one. (8-2-5-7)
