Southland "Hound Madness Stakes"

March 21st, 2016

Sunday's exciting and entertaining greyhound racing card at the Southland track was highlighted by the running of the Greyt 8 round of the quarterfinals of the 2016 Southland "Hound Madness Stakes".  After yesterday's elimination round the field has now been cut down to the final 4 greyhounds from the original 64 who were entered. Just like the NCAA basketball tournament this stakes competition has seen one upset after another as none of the top 16 seeds were able to make it to the final four. At the beginning of this stakes contest I selected 8 greyhounds who I thought would make the quarterfinals and of those eight picks, none of them made it to the final four though my pick to keep an eye on was able to make it to the final eight. The semifinals will be held this coming Saturday, March 26 and then the finals of the 2016 Hound Madness Stakes will be held on Friday, April 1. Listed below are each of the four region winners and I will update their box position for the semifinal races when the draw becomes official. Best of luck to all the remaining greyhounds as well as all their connections. Always remember that BETAMERICA is just a click away for your wagering opportunities or for any questions or comments you may have. Thanks for reading and good luck.
