Five Promising Greyhounds Arise
Welcome to another Southland monthly preview of the Five Up & Coming Young Greyhounds To Watch at Southland and July's selections certainly look like they will give a solid showing in the coming weeks and months as their young careers have already gotten of to a very good start. The only requirement that I use in selecting the 5 up and coming young greyhounds to watch each month is that they have no more then 10 official starts prior to being selected. Please check back as every two months or so I will give updates on the progress of our choices. Good luck to everyone and thanks for reading.
MONEYMAKER MIKE'S 5 Up and Coming Young Greyhounds To Watch at Southland for July
BR REPEAT - 3 races - 2-0-1-0 - This talented young greyhound is off to a solid start with 2 wins already and has shown good early speed, a big rush to the turn as well as a strong kick down the stretch. His racing future does look bright indeed and well worth watching develop his skills even more in the coming months. Next start - June 27 - afternoon - Race 7 - 5 box
CBJ CHEERLEADER - 5 races - 2-1-0-0 - She's a mid track runner with a good early rush and is already moved up to Grade C. Both wins have come from the one box but look for her to get wins from the outside posts as well. When she gets the lead, she's shown that she's hard to catch.
CTW ELVIRA - 5 races - 3-1-0-1 - She's 5 out of 5 in top four finishes and three of those are wins. With a strong early rush to go with her mid to wide running style, she looks to be a factor each time out and early results has shown just that. Already in Grade B thanks to that 3 race winning streak, she is definitely on the march to the top grade races.
FLYING REAGAN - 5 races - 1-2-2-0 - His running style is mostly mid to wide but he has shown the ability to run from anywhere on the track in his short career so that's a big plus as he gains experience with each race in the future. He's got decent early speed and a good closing kick so I'll be watching him and I believe he's got the tools needed to have a solid career. Next start - June 28 - Sunday matinee - Race 4 - box 6
SE TALI SUNDANCE - 4 races - 2-1-0-0 - He's the real deal, no doubt about it. Look for this one to be Grade A/AA in the next few weeks as he's got the tools to be among the best greyhounds in the country. A mid to wide running style is complimented by blazing early speed and big rush to the turn along with a strong late kick when needed. I will be following this one each and every time out. By the way, he set the track record at Abilene during the 2015 Spring meet.
Thanks for reading and best of luck to these young greyhounds in their future.
