SOUTHLAND Preview - Friday Evening, December 16

The Friday evening program at Southland is highlighted by three top grade races where several top notch greyhounds are trying to keep their impressive winning streaks going along with a race featuring a very promising young greyhound going for his first official win. Check out these races below and thanks for reading. Race 1 - 820 yards - Grade TAA - Southland gets things started with the always exciting super marathon race and the show stopper here is the aptly named SHOW ON THE ROAD (6 box) going after his 5th straight win. This extremely talented greyhound has 34 top two finishes which includes 26 wins as well as 38 top four finishes in 44 races this season. Another standout in this field is FIESTA TRAVEL (8 box) who has some very impressive stats as well having 20 wins and 32 top two finishes and 44 top four finishes in 50 races herself. These two outstanding runners are no strangers to each other and will battle to the finish line once again here.

Race 3 - 583 yards - Grade M - In this race we have OSHKOSH HARBOR (1 box) who caught my attention with a 13 length schooling win from the one box and despite having trouble last time in her first official start, I think she comes right back here with a huge effort and a big win.

Race 5 - 334 yards - Grade TAA - Something has to give here as we have two outstanding runners with nice winning streaks going up against one another and it should be a dandy paw to paw battle from start to finish. CRAIGIE RENEGADE (6 box) is going after his 7th straight victory and HS LONE SURVIVOR (2 box) will be trying to make it 6 in a row himself. Also in this field is CRAIGIEPRIDENJOY (7 box) who has just transferred here from the Wheeling track and who is a brother to Craigie Renegade. He was running in top grade over there and in his only schooling race a few days ago came away with a solid win over this short course so he could be in the mix as well.

Race 7 - 583 yards - Grade AA - BOC'S DOUBLESHOT (5 box) is trying to make it 6 wins out of his last 7 races so it will be a race worth keeping an eye on too.
