Southland Preview - Friday, February 5

February 5th, 2016

Welcome to another Friday evening program of highly entertaining and exciting greyhound racing at Southland as there are 18 races on tap on the card for your viewing and wagering pleasure. MoneyMaker Mike has chosen several races that feature some top grade runners which got my attention and I've listed those below for greyhound fans to check out. Thanks for reading and good luck with your wagers.

Race 6 - 703 yards - Grade B - REIGN SUPREME - 1 box - This hard running greyhound loves the rail and draws the one box for the first time in over 3 months so look for a solid effort from him in this one. He's a top grade runner coming back up in class and should be helped by the two dog looking to get mid to wide position. With a decent break Reign Supreme could find himself in an excellent spot to get the win.

Race10 - 660 yards - Grade AA - OSHKOSH KID - 2 box  - He's running as good as any greyhound at Southland at the present time and has a impressive streak of 11 straight races of finishing in the top three. He is also going for his 7th win in his last 8 races, the only time he didn't win in that span, he finished second. You can't be much more consistent as that so look for another money finish for him here. A side note, CBJ FIREBUG who is in the 1 box in this race is the only greyhound to have beaten Oshkosh Kid in his last 8 races. These two should battle paw to paw once again but I like Oshkosh Kid to get the win.

Race16- 583 yards - Grade A - CTW UNION BOSS - 2 box - An extremely talented young greyhound who blazed his way from maiden to Grade A in less than a month and who also has 4 wins and 2 second place finishes in his short career of 8 races. This is a tough field but considering CTW Union Boss has 2 top 3 finishes in just 3 Grade A races, I would certainly not leave him off any tickets. The future is definitely bright for him.
