SOUTHLAND Preview - Friday twilight, February13
As always, welcome to another 18 exciting and entertaining greyhound races at Southland. The program this evening has several races that features some solid runners that stand out as having good wagering potential and MoneyMaker Mike has those selected below. Let's get the weekend off to a nice start by putting some cash in pockets. Good luck to all and thanks for reading.
Race 1 - Grade A - 583 yard course - I am going with the (6) TOPLINE DRIVE as the key here as he looks to be back in form after being off the track for 3 months. He is coming off a very nice win last time out with an impressive 9 1/2 length romp and I think he stands a good chance of repeating that big effort from the six box he has drawn this evening. An inside runner who with a decent break who can find running room on the rail, I'll give him a shot here.
Play 6 with the 2/4/5 in quinielas and tri's and I'll cover with the 6 to beat the 8 in the superfecta.
Race 4 - Grade M - 583 yard course - The pick here is the (2) RC HARLEY. I like him because of his past two efforts where he took the lead early and held it both times until being caught down the stretch. He's a rail runner with tons of early speed and I will give him a chance here to hold the lead instead of being caught this time.
Play 2 with the 3/6/8 in quinielas and tri's and I'll also use the 2 to beat the 7 in the superfecta.
Race 10 - Grade AA - 583 yard course - Going with the (2) CBJ OLD GLORY here as the key. With his strong rush to the turn I like him to be in good position going into the backstretch to challenge for the win. A mid-track runner that has shown his consistency in the higher grades, he's worthy of a play here.
Play 2 with the 3/5/7 in quinielas and tri's and I will also play the superfecta with the 2 to beat the 1.
Race 11 - Grade B - 660 yard course - This is the MoneyMaker play of the evening and I like the (4) BUDWEISER. He is coming off two races at the longer distance of 703 yards and having run the extra distance in those contests could possibly help him here. He had a second and fourth place finish in those two races and now goes back to the 660 course. Worth giving him a shot as he does have a strong closing run, if he gets a decent break and can avoid trouble early, look for him to be flying down the stretch.
Play 4 to win and with the 1/2/5 in the quinielas.
Good luck to everyone and thanks for reading.
