SOUTHLAND Preview - March's Five Up & Coming Young Greyhounds To Watch At Southland
It's that time again for MoneyMaker Mike's monthly preview of his 5 up and coming young greyhounds to watch at Southland. I try to post this around the middle of each month as many of you may know, the only requirement is that the greyhound hasn't raced more then 10 times in their young careers. These youngsters have shown promise and talent and we feel they are certainly worth watching and following in their early development on the track. The choices for March are listed below and in alphabetical order. Good luck to all and thanks for reading.
KL'S OLIVER - He had two schooling races and won both of them easily by going to the front by the first turn and never looking back. In his first and only official start at Southland, he does the same thing by being in front at the first turn and holding that lead for a 3 length win. He has tons of early speed and is yet to be caught once he gets lead. His next start is Sunday, February 15 in a Grade D contest over the 583 yard course and will be starting from the 8 box in race 4.
KENRO BRATSK - She has only had 6 career starts but does have a win and 4 second place finishes in those races. She does show even at this early stage, a competitive drive that should bode her well as she gains more experience while hopefully turning some of those potential second place finishes into wins. Her next start is Sunday, February 15 in race 4 where she has drawn the one box in a Grade D contest over the 583 yard course.
OSHKOSH KID - A hard running young greyhound already, he is 6 out of 6 in top four finishes which includes 3 wins. Loves the inside and this rail runner has a huge rush to the turn to go along with a very strong closing move as well. Moving up steadily in grade, having gone from Grade M to Grade B in just six races shows the potential that this young pup has.
PJ WUDACUDASHUDA - In 5 career starts, he's gotten a win, a second and three third place finishes. He has an inside running style with a solid combination of decent early speed along with a late move down the stretch. His next contest is Monday, February 16 in the 4th race, a Grade D event over the 583 yard course where he has drawn the 2 box, a favorable position for his rail running ability.
SOVEREIGN ISLAND - This impressive young pup is six out of six in top four finishes in his very young career which already includes 4 wins. He has also gone from Grade M to Grade A in less than a month, demonstrating a mid to rail running style to go along with his very strong rush to the turn. He has a ton of potential and his future certainly looks bright indeed. His next start is Sunday, February 15, in the first race, a Grade A contest over the 583 yard course and he's drawn the 2 box.
