SOUTHLAND Preview - Monday twilight, February 2
Monday's twilight program at Southland features 18 exciting races and MoneyMaker Mike has picked out several contests that caught his attention as good wagering opportunities. I have listed them below and hope to get the week started by putting some extra cash in our pockets. Good luck to all and thanks for reading.
Race 1 - Right off the bat we have a solid play in the first race, a Grade A contest over the 583 yard course and the pick is the (5) FLYING FIRED UP. This talented young pup was one of our recent 5 up and coming young greyhounds at Southland that we post about each month. He has proven to be an outstanding choice so far as he has 13 top four finishes in just 14 official starts. He has a very good rush to the turn and has also shown he can come from behind when needed. With his rail running style, I look for him to have a good break and find running room on the inside in which to challenge for the win.
Race 2 - Here we have a Grade B race over the 583 yard course and the pick is the (8) SAKKARA ME O MY. This mid to wide running greyhound has drawn the eight box which gives him prime post position in this contest as the majority of runners in this race have an inside running style. Don't look for him to be among the early leaders due to a slow break but once he gets by the first turn, he kicks it in gear and will be flying down the stretch with a strong enough closing run to make the ticket. He might not close in time for the win but certainly worth playing in quinielas, tri's and superfectas. I will use the (8) with the 3/5/7.
Race 5 - This Grade D contest over the 660 yard course is the MoneyMaker pick of the evening and the choice is the (8) TJ'S WRAP IT UP. In his last race, his first time over this distance, he finished second after leading a good bit of the way. With his decent early speed he will be vying for the lead right out of the box and I believe with a good clean break he can get running room on the rail in which to challenge for the win.
Race 18 - This is a Grade A contest over the 583 yard course and I'm going with the (2) OSHKOSH GOOBER as the key. He is a hard running young greyhound who has been consistent from the start of his young career. He has 11 top four finishes in 12 races including four wins while steadily moving up in grade. Likes the inside and has a very strong rush to the turn which usually has him among the frontrunners in most of his races. I like him to get out fast here and once again be either in the lead or near the front when they cross the finish line.
Good luck to everyone and thanks for reading.
