SOUTHLAND Preview - October's 5 Up & Coming Young Greyhounds to Watch
Welcome to another Southland monthly preview of the Five Up & Coming Young Greyhounds To Watch. October's selections consist of some hard running youngsters that have started their careers with some impressive wins and one that has just now hit the track. There were quite a few greyhounds that had credentials to make this list and the choices were certainly tough to make but I believe the selections below all have the

BGR Z Z TOP - 6 starts - 3-1-0-2 - running Grade B now - This young greyhound already has 3 wins to show in his short time on the track and I look for him to continue his outstanding start to his greyhound racing career. A strong rush to the turn and a solid move down the stretch should have this mid-track runner in the money a good bit of the time. Next start - Wednesday, October 12 - 4th race from the 3 box
BARTS GHOSTSTORY - 7 starts - 3-0-2-0 Southland - 2 starts -0-1-0-0 Wheeling - running Grade B now - Here we have a transfer from the Wheeling track who has taken right to the Southland course with solid results so far. He hasn't shown much speed out of the box but this rail runner more than makes up for it down the backstretch and headed home to the wire. A very strong closing ability will have him challenging more often then not so I am certainly going to be watching this one in the future. Next start - Thursday, October 13 - 8th race from the 5 box
KL'S FINN - 3 starts - 3-0-0-0 - running Grade B now - This mid-track running young greyhound was solid in schooling and has been even more impressive in his first three officials starts by winning them all. He's shown to have a huge early rush which puts him in a great position to use his strong closing abilities to run down the frontrunners. I think this greyhound's future is extremely bright and will follow him closely this season.
RECKLESS HABIT - 2 starts - 2-0-0-0 - running Grade C now - Good early speed for this promising young female runner with a mid to inside racing style as evidenced by her two wins already with one win coming from the 2 box and one win from the 8 box. She's out of the box quick and maintains that pace thru out and will only get better with each and every start as she gains more and more experience.
TAA TAA FOR NOW - 1 start - 1-0-0-0 - running Grade D now - Only one start but a good one it was as she wins her maiden debut by 6 1/2 lengths while running a sizzling time of 31.89. Tremendous early speed she has and it bodes well for this rail runner as she begins to work her way up in class.
