Saturday's matinee and twilight entries are in for Southland's greyhound racing card as well as the results from Friday's two performances. We are now in week 3 of MoneyMaker Mike's kennel study that I'm doing this month. This week there are 3 more kennels that I am following and I have them listed below. As I said at the start of August, I was going to be keeping up with 3 or 4 different Southland kennels each week and checking results from several days each week. People have often asked me over the years if it pays off to keep up with the them and my answer has always been yes, it definitely can benefit the greyhound fan to pay attention to how well the different kennels might be running at any given time. It is always a good choice to keep a kennel chart close by during a performance in my opinion. This is a very short and unscientific study but keeping up with how the kennels are running on a daily basis is a worthwhile handicapping tool that you could use to your advantage. Kennels I am following this week - WAYNE R WARD Inc. Kennel, DAVID BLAIR Kennel & the JEFF LOVELY KENNEL. I will be checking results from Friday (both matinee and evening performances) and Saturday (both matinee and evening performances).
Wayne R Ward Inc. Kennel has a total of 19 entries on Friday - 8 in the afternoon and 11 in the evening. Of the total 19 entries the kennel had 5 winners, 5 place finishes, 2 show finishes and 3 fourth place efforts.
On Saturday the kennel has a total of 18 starts with 9 entries in the afternoon and 9 entries in the evening.
David Blair Kennel has a total of 15 entries on Friday - 9 in the afternoon and 6 in the evening. Of the total 15 entries the kennel had 4 winners, 1 second place finish, 1 show finish and 1 fourth place effort.
On Saturday the kennel has a total of 15 starts with 8 entries in the afternoon and 7 entries in the evening.
Jeff Lovely Kennel has a total of 11 entries on Friday - 7 in the afternoon and 4 in the evening. Of the total 11 entries the kennel had no winners, 1 second place finish, 1 show finish and 3 fourth place efforts.
On Saturday the kennel has a total of 9 starts with 6 entries in the afternoon and 3 in the evening.
For the day, while the win total was close between the Wayne R Ward and David Blair kennels, a decided overall edge must go to the Wayne R Ward Inc. Kennel who had an amazing 15 top four finishes in 19 starts.
