SOUTHLAND Preview - Saturday evening, January 9
Welcome to another Saturday evening of highly entertaining and exciting greyhound racing at Southland as there are 18 races on tap on the evening card for your viewing and wagering pleasure. For the picks on Saturday, MoneyMaker Mike has selected several greyhounds that have shown to be solid candidates for turning in winning efforts. Best wishes to all of you for a very healthy and prosperous new year and hopefully we can get things off to good financial start early this year by putting some extra cash in our pockets. Last night's picks resulted in two wins and a second place effort to go along with a seventh place finish so I'll stay with some top grade runners who have proven their talents. Good luck to all and thanks for reading.
Race 7 - 583 yards - Grade AA - SE TALI SUNDANCE - 3 box - I like him to come right back with a win after going box to wire from the same box and in the same class as he's in here. In 37 races, he's been in the quiniela 19 times and that includes 15 wins. Tons of speed and extremely tough to catch once he gets out front. I will play the 3 with 4/5/6/8 in quinielas and tri's.
Race 8 - 583 yards - Grade B - CHASMO'S COLEMAN - 3 box - He's a recent transfer to the Southland track from Orange Park and gave a good effort last time out, running 3rd in his first official start at this track. The odds should be decent and though his post position isn't all that favorable for his mid to wide running style, his good early speed is capable of getting him out among the frontrunners from any box. I will play the 3 with the 1/2/5/8.
Race10- 583 yards - Grade AA - CHASMO'S DUTCH - 2 box - Capable of a big effort almost every time he steps on the track as evidenced by 20 wins and 7 second place finishes in 45 races. With 3 wins in his last 6 races and showing 6 to 1 on the morning line I'll play the 2 with the 3/5/6/7.
Race15- 583 yards - Grade AA - FLYING FIRED UP - 3 box - One of the best running greyhounds anywhere with tons of talent, he's capable of early speed as well as a big rush to the turn and added to that, a big strong late move that usually finds him in the money at the finish. I'll play the 3 with the 1/2/4/8.
