SOUTHLAND preview - Sunday, December 20
Welcome to another Sunday twilight card of entertaining and exciting greyhound racing at Southland as there are 18 races on tap for your viewing and wagering pleasure. For the next few days MoneyMaker Mike will be picking greyhounds who hopefully can add some holiday cash to each of our pockets. Sunday's selections feature a couple of impressive young greyhounds that have looked very good in their early careers. Good luck to all and thanks for reading.
Race 1 - 583 yards - Grade D - CTW UNION BOSS - 8 box - This young greyhound has only had three schooling races but has been very impressive in each one of them winning by 5 1/2, 7 1/2 and 11 lengths. He looks to have good early speed and a nice rush to the turn to go along with his strong closing run. One to watch for sure. I will play quinielas, 8 with the 2/4/6.
Race 3 - 583 yards - Grade D - MEMPHIS - 4 box - Here is another young pup that has shown a lot of promise in his first couple of starts. After winning two schooling races, he follows that up with win in his maiden debut and then encounters trouble on the first turn in Grade D but comes back with a solid 3rd place finish. He's a rail runner with a ton of early speed, look for him to be out quick once again here and challenge for the win.
Race 9 - 660 yards - Grade D - HAWKWOOD - 4 box - Going with the class of the race in this one as this greyhound was running in Grade A just a few months back before going through a rough stretch. He should be well rested after being off the track for almost a month and I look for him to find some running room on the outside for his mid to wide running style. I will play quinielas and tri's using the 4 with 1/3/7/8.
