SOUTHLAND preview - Sunday, July 24
Sunday's twilight racing action at Southland looks to be full of exciting & entertaining paw to paw action and with that in mind, I've selected 3 greyhounds that I think have the good possibility of getting a win. To this point, of the 15 picks I've given so far in July, 7 of the choices have been winners. That includes Friday evening's winning pick in the 18th race which was Fiesta Travel. For the picks for Sunday, July 24, I have listed my MoneyMaker Mike selections below so be sure to check them out. There will be 18 races on the card for Sunday's program so make a day of it and let's see if we can't put some cash in your pockets with a couple of winning greyhounds. Remember that BetAmerica is your one stop wagering and racing information site that will gladly assist you in any way should you have any questions so please feel free to contact them. Best of luck to each of you in your wagering opportunities and thanks for reading.
Race 1 - Here I am going with PJ BARCELONA (2 box) who is coming off a strong effort in his last official start where he came on strong at the end for a solid second place finish and before that, had a very impressive win in his last schooling race. He's capable of a good break but what stands out to me is his big late closing move so don't overlook him in this one. A mid-track runner with a lot of late speed and I'll give him a shot here.
Race 6 - This is one of my July's 5 Up & Coming young greyhounds JS JOHNNY CASH (8 box) and I look for him to continue his strong start to his career with another money finish in this one. He's already moved up to Grade B with 3 wins in his first 4 official starts and while the competition is certainly getting tougher with each step up in class, he has met the challenge and I look for him to give another good showing in this race. Appears to be able to run good from anywhere on the track and has shown to be quick out of the box and with a big rush to the turn.
Race 11 - A very tough field but I'm going with a young greyhound, VJ ON THE RIVER (1 box) who is 9 out of 9 in top four finishes in his short career and this includes 4 wins already. Almost half his starts have come from the seven box and it will be interesting to see how he does in his second start from the 1 box. If he can have a strong rush to the turn and avoid early trouble it will put him in position to challenge for the win. There are some solid A grade greyhounds in this race but he's shown the determination and drive so I wouldn't be surprised to see him close by at the wire.
