SOUTHLAND Preview - Sunday matinee, December 28
Welcome to Southland's Sunday matinee racing card as there are 18 exciting and entertaining races for your enjoyment and wagering pleasures. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and a great weekend as well. Good luck to everyone and thanks for reading.
Race 1 - Let's get started winning with a solid pick in the very 1st race, a Grade C contest over the 583 yard course and the choice is one of our five up and coming young greyhounds at Southland for January, the (4) PJ EZ PASS. He is 3 out of 4 in his young career with two wins and a second place finish and looks ready to run here. To go along with his rail running style, he does show decent early speed and a good rush, the most impressive thing to me though is his commanding run from the 1st turn to the finish line. As he moves up in grade the competition gets tougher but he's got the potential to really be an outstanding runner. His greyhound future is bright indeed.
Race 7 - Here I like the (6) BA JOE COOL to come right back in a Grade D race over the 583 yard course and make it two straight wins. He is coming off an impressive 11 length win last time out and shouldn't have any trouble going to the front as he has a ton of early speed to go with his rail running style. Odds will probably be short on him but he's still the one to beat in my opinion.
Race 10 - Here we have the MoneyMaker pick of the program, it's a Grade D race over the 660 yard course and I am going to give a shot to the (8) OSHKOSH FRESNO to pull of the upset. He is posted well for his mid-track running style and in his first race over this course last time out, gave a very respectable effort coming away with a 4th place finish. At the odds he should go off at, I'm willing to take a chance on him. He does have 10 of 15 starts in the money so he certainly has been consistent.
Race 13 - In this contest, a Grade A race over the 660 yard course, I'm sticking with the (2) PJ REFINED to get back to her winning ways. This impressive greyhound is far to talented to not be considered almost every time she runs and with 20 top four finishes in 33 starts, include 10 wins and 5 seconds, she's getting my vote here.
