SOUTHLAND Preview - Wednesday, August 12
Welcome to another Wednesday twilight race card of exciting greyhound racing at Southland as there are 18 entertaining races on tap for your viewing and wagering pleasure. For the next few days MoneyMaker Mike will give four longshot selections for those of you who have requested that I give out some picks that could bring a nice return on your investment. The only requirement for a longshot pick is that the greyhounds selected not be one of the four favorites at the bottom of the program. These are picks that I think stand a decent chance of finishing in the top three and helping make the ticket a nice paying one. Always remember that should you have any questions about wagering opportunities or opening an account BETAMERICA can assist you and help you in those areas. Good luck to all and thanks for reading.
Race 1 - 583 yards - Grade A - SUPER C HENDRIX - 2 box - Here is a decent longshot to try right off the bat, he's had a lot of trouble lately but is very capable of hitting the lid and being in a good position to pull off the upset. Showing 10-1 odds on the program, I'm willing to give him a shot here mainly because his last win came from the same 2 box he has here and in the same grade as well.
Race 4 - 334 yards - Grade TA - T'S BLAST EPISOD - 1 box - Talk about taking a chance on a longshot, this race certainly fits the bill as this young pup is running in Grade D but facing other greyhounds who are running in Grade AA, A & B in this contest. I like the fact that even though he may be outclassed if you go strictly by the program lines, he is coming off a fine 2nd place effort last time out despite coming out of the box in last place. While he's going up against much stronger competition here if he can have a much better break and give the same kind of effort that he did last time out, he may be the surprise of the evening. He's worth a small wager in my opinion at the 8-1 odds he is on the program.
Race 5 - 583 yards - Grade D - SINKER - 8 box - I don't believe he will go off anywhere near the 9-1 odds he's showing now but there are several reasons I like him to run good here. He's posted well for his outside running style, shows capable of decent early speed to go along with a late closing move and in his young career of 6 races, he's got 5 top three finishes including a win.
Race13 - 660 yards - Grade B - WW WISE UP - 2 box - Likes the inside post and was running Grade AA just a few months ago, now back in B grade and does have a couple of 3rd place finishes in his last three races in this class. Right now showing odds of 6-1 and I'll give him a shot in this race and hope he breaks quick enough to find early running room on the rail.
Good luck to everyone and thanks for reading.
