SOUTHLAND Preview - Wednesday, December 28
Wednesday's twilight program of 18 exciting races at Southland features several contests that stood out to me as possible solid longshot plays and I've listed those below for you to check out. The end of the year is fast approaching and I am looking to see if I can find a couple of longshot runners that could put some extra cash in our pockets before the new year arrives. There is also an extremely impressive young greyhound running in one of the late races that is worth checking out as well. Thanks for reading and good luck with your wagers.
Race 3 - 660 yards - Grade C - BGR DOLLY PARTON (5 box) - This young runner impressed me last time out in her first outing over the 660 yard course and I will be watching to see if she can give an even stronger effort here. Morning line has her at 7-1 and odds could be even better then that at post time.
Race 6 - 583 yards - Grade D - IMARK NIKKI (6 box) - She's had a rough time of it since arriving here from the Daytona Beach track where she won 10 times in 25 starts but now seems to be hitting her stride as of late. With 20 starts at Southland under her belt, she's gotten 8 top four finishes but 3 of those have come in her last 5 races. It's just a matter of time before she gets that first win at the West Memphis track and she should go off at good odds once again here.
Race 12 - 703 yards - Grade B - PJ IM A JAMMER (1 box) - It's a competitive field but I think the rail gives him an edge in this one for his inside running style. This is the first time in 5 months he has drawn the one box so at 6-1 he's worth considering.
Race 17 - 583 yards - Grade A - PJ PUREHARDROCK (2 box) - Here we have Charter Kennel's very impressive young greyhound who has gone from Grade M to Grade A in just a month. With 4 wins and two second place finishes in his early career of 6 races, he's a force to be reckoned with in his very bright future.
