SOUTHLAND preview - Wednesday, July 20
Wednesday's twilight racing action at Southland looks to be full of exciting & entertaining paw to paw action and with that in mind, I've selected 3 greyhounds that I think have the good possibility of getting a win. To this point, of the 9 picks I've given so far in July, 4 of the choices have been winners. We didn't have any winners from Saturday afternoon's 3 selections but MoneyMaker Mike hopes to get back on a winning track with the selections below. There will be 18 races on the card for the Wednesday twilight card so make a day of it and let's see if we can't put some cash in your pockets with a couple of winning greyhounds. Race 3 - Despite a couple of tough outings, I'm going to stay with UNORETHADOXX (8 box) in hopes of her looking more like she did in schooling efforts then in these past two official starts. Two wins in those practice runs and two 6th place official finishes may have greyhound fans a tad confused about this young greyhound but I'm hopeful that she can turn things around here. She has shown early speed so it would be a big plus if she can get out quickly and avoid any early trouble.
Race 10 - In a tough and competitive field I am going to be watching closely L'S DIGITY DOG (1 box) who is looking to make it two straight wins after finishing first last time out. He's an inside runner with a strong move late and while finding a running lane early may be a little tough with the 2, 3 & 4 all wanting on or near the rail, he still may find himself in good position around the first turn in which to kick it in gear. If that happens he's more then capable of running down the leaders here.
Race 15 - Always one to watch BRASKA DALE (7 box) should be on your radar in this one as he's got a nice post position for his mid to wide running style. This talented runner has 26 top four finishes in 31 starts and this includes 9 wins. He was competitive in the recently completed 2016 Southland Derby and now at the 660 distance I look for him to continue with a solid showing in this one.
