SOUTHLAND Preview - Wednesday, November 23

As Thanksgiving draws near Southland has put together a solid lineup of races for Wednesday"s twilight performance and I've listed several below that caught my attention. The greyhounds in these races stand out to me for different reasons and while there is sure to be other highlights on this card, these three races are the ones I'll be watching closely. There is plenty of exciting greyhound racing on tap with this lineup of 18 races and it is sure to be quite entertaining. Race 1 - 583 yards - Grade D  - CRAIGIE BEOWOLF (7 box ) - Here we have a young greyhound who won his last two schooling races and then followed that up with a very impressive 13 length win in his first official start. He's got tons of speed and once he gets the lead, hasn't been caught yet. I'll be watching to see how he does as the competition gets tougher with each move up in class but he's off to an impressive start for sure.

Race 10 - 583 yards - Grade AA - BOC'S DOUBLESHOT (3 box) - He is going for 3 wins in a row and has been very consistent with his last 6 races having all been top four finishes.

Race 17 - 660 yards - Grade AA - MONKER (1 box) - I will be watching to see how she responds after encountering much trouble in her last race and finishing 8th. In her previous 5 races before that, she was on a roll winning 3 of them and finishing 2nd in the other two. It's a tough field but she's shown to be very capable against strong competition.
