SOUTHLAND Preview - Wednesday twilight February 18

February 18th, 2015

Welcome to another 18 exciting races at Southland on tap for Wednesday. There are several races that caught my attention and after further examination look to be very good opportunities for the wagering public to put some cash in their pockets. I've listed these below and look forward to cashing in tickets along with all of you. Good luck and thanks for reading.

Race 6 - Here is a Grade B contest over the 703 yard distance course and I'm going with the (4) KF'S NEWSMAKER as the key. She's been running in Grade A and AA but finds herself in this B grade race with a good shot at moving back up in grade. She does have a wide running style but can break early enough to find running room and she also has a good late move that should have her challenging for the win. I will play the (4) in quinielas and tri's with the 2/5/6 and I will play the (4) to beat the 1 in the superfecta.

Race 10 - This is a Grade AA contest over the 583 yard course and my pick here is the (1) CBJ OLD GLORY. He is coming off an impressive 9 length win last time out from the two box and I won't be surprise to see him get a repeat win here. He has decent early speed and can come from behind when needed but will need to get out of the box quickly to avoid any early trouble, especially with the 2 dog being a solid inside runner. I will play the (1) in quinielas and tri's with the 2/5/7.

Race 17 - This is a Grade AA contest over the 583 yard course and I'm going with the (2) IN MY MEMORY to make it three wins in a row. This young pup has been a consistently hard runner since starting his career at Southland and even more so as of late with five top four finishes including 3 wins in his last five outings. I will play the (2) with the 3/6/7 and I will also play the (2) to beat the 5 in the dime superfecta, 2-all-5-all, 2-all-all-5, all-2-5-all, all-2-all-5.

Race 18 - Here we have the MoneyMaker pick of the evening in this Grade AA contest over the 583 yard course and I'm going with the (5) DARK N DEMURE. She has 23 top four finishes in 36 races but has been inconsistent as of late with only two money finishes in her last 6 efforts. One of those was a win from the same 5 box she has this evening and it came in the same class as she is in now. I am looking for her to break well, avoid early trouble and find running room quickly for her wide running style. I will play the (5) with the 1/2/6 in the quinelas but I will have her on top in the tri with all as I believe she will bring a nice price with a win.

Good luck to all and thanks for reading.
