Saturday's results are in for Southland's greyhound racing card as we have now completed the 3rd week of MoneyMaker Mike's short August kennel study. This week there were 3 more kennels that I followed and as I said at the start of August, I was going to be keeping up with 3 or 4 different Southland kennels each week and checking results from several days each week. People have often asked me over the years if it pays off to keep up with the them and my answer has always been yes, it definitely can benefit the greyhound fan to pay attention to how well the different kennels might be running at any given time. It is always a good choice to keep a kennel chart close by during a performance in my opinion. This is a very short and unscientific study but keeping up with how the kennels are running on a daily basis is a worthwhile handicapping tool that you could use to your advantage. Kennels I followed this week - WAYNE R WARD Inc. Kennel, DAVID BLAIR Kennel & the JEFF LOVELY KENNEL. Results below are from Friday (both matinee and evening performances) and Saturday (both matinee and evening performances).
Wayne R Ward Inc. Kennel had a total of 37 entries on Friday and Saturday. They ended with 25 top four finishes including 6 wins. Of the total 19 entries on Friday the kennel had 5 winners, 5 place finishes, 2 show finishes and 3 fourth place efforts. Of the total 18 entries on Saturday the kennel had 1 winner, 0 place finishes, 4 show finishes and 5 fourth place efforts.
David Blair Kennel had a total of 30 entries on Friday and Saturday. They ended with 14 top four finishes including 6 wins. Of the total 15 entries on Friday the kennel had 4 winners, 1 second place finish, 1 show finish and 1 fourth place effort. Of the total 15 entries on Saturday the kennel had 2 winners, 1 second place finish, 0 third place finishes and 3 fourth place efforts.
Jeff Lovely Kennel had a total of 20 entries on Friday and Saturday. They ended with 7 top four finishes. Of the total 11 entries on Friday the kennel had 0 winners, 1 second place finish, 1 show finish and 3 fourth place efforts. Of the total 9 entries on Saturday the kennel had 0 winners, 1 second place finish, 1 third place finish and 0 fourth place efforts.
It was a even battle for wins between the Ward and Blair kennels but the WAYNE R WARD Inc. Kennel gets the edge due to their overall top 4 finishes.
