SOUTHLAND - Round 3 of the RAZORBACK CLASSIC STAKES, Wednesday, May 25
Highlighting Wednesday's greyhound racing action at Southland will be the running of Round 3 of the 2016 RAZORBACK CLASSIC STAKES competition. From the original 96 greyhounds who were entered in this stakes contest, the field has now been cut to 64. As mentioned in my last Southland blog, the favorites ran good again in Round 2 although there were several longshots who were able to pull the upset. You may remember in the first race of Round 2 there was a 39 to 1 shot who pulled the huge upset and then race 5 had a 16 to 1 surprising winner. With all the talented greyhounds running at Southland, getting a win isn't that easy to accomplish. When you add in a tough stakes completion, it's even harder. That being said, upsets happen all the time and while it's tougher in a stakes race I don't think we have seen the end of the big upsets in this tournament.
