Southland - Saturday, February 20
Welcome to another Saturday evening program of highly entertaining and exciting greyhound racing at Southland as there are 18 races on tap on the card for your viewing and wagering pleasure. This week MoneyMaker Mike has been selecting several races that stand out as good opportunities for some longshots to have nice money finishes and and I've listed these races below for greyhound fans and racing fans in general to check out. I will continue with these upset specials thru Sunday and then give a recap on how the picks turned out. Thanks for reading and good luck with your wagers.
Race 3 - 583 yards - Grade M - VIKRAM - 7 box - He's gotten off to a rough start in his young career but the potential is there and that's why I'm willing to give him a shot in this race. He's been blocked, bumped and collided with in his first five starts but with a mid to wide running style along with an outside post position still worthy of a play here, keep in mind he does show a win from the eight box in a schooling race.
Race 11- 583 yards - Grade B - HK IRENE - box 2 - This rail runner hasn't drawn the one or two box in over 2 months and with a early and clean break may find herself with enough inside running room to challenge for the win. She's dropping in class and did win a B grade contest just a few races back. Odds should be decent on her and she could bring a nice price with a solid money finish.
Race 15- 583 yards - Grade AA - OAKS MADDY - 4 box - She's overdue for a win and it could very well come here as this early speed rail runner may find herself challenging for the lead right out of the box. Last season this hard running young greyhound had 10 top four finishes in 15 starts including 6 wins. She hasn't won yet this season but has still been consistently in the hunt with 6 top four finishes in 8 eight races. This is a tough field but she's definitely capable of a big effort.
