SOUTHLAND - Sunday, April 17

April 17th, 2016

Here are the Saturday matinee and evening results of this week's study of the morning line picks at Southland and I have recapped them below. As previously stated, this week MoneyMaker Mike has been taking a look at different handicapping styles and I figured we would start with the morning line picks found at the bottom of each of the daily Southland programs. Saturday's races were the 5th and 6th of the 7 performances which run thru Sunday and I will then have an overall recap on Monday. I have found the results of this very short study to be interesting so remember to check back tomorrow for the final results and perhaps form your own opinion about how the morning line picks did during this study. Handicapping the greyhounds successfully and on a regular basis has shown to be a lot harder then a person might think but regardless, whether that is from trying to use logic and reasoning or just going with assumptions and guesses, the end result is that all of us, with what ever strategy is used, we all hope to show a profit.  Thanks for reading and good luck with your wagers.

Saturday matinee's morning line picks showed the key dog in each race came in the money 8 times in 18 races with 2 wins, 4 place and 2 show finishes. The wins came in the 10th and 13th races. There were  5 quinielas and exactas hit using a four door box of that race's morning line selections. One of the quinielas and exactas hit were the top two dogs in the 3rd race. There were 3 trifectas hit playing the four dog box and 1 superfecta was hit in the 9th race using the four dog box.

Saturday's evening morning line picks showed the key dog in each race came in the money 8 times in 17 races with 3 wins, 3 places and 2 show finishes. The wins came in the 3rd, 5th and 17th races. There were 7 quinielas and exactas hit using a four door box. Three of those quinielas were top two dogs in the 9th, 12th and 17th race. There were 4 trifectas hit using the four dog box and the 17th race morning line picked the trifecta straight. There was one superfecta hit, that was in the Grade AA 5th race. The 18th race had no results as it was declared a no-race.
