Southland - Wednesday, February 17
Welcome to another Wednesday twilight program of highly entertaining and exciting greyhound racing at Southland as there are 18 races on tap on the card for your viewing and wagering pleasure. MoneyMaker Mike has selected several races that stand out as good opportunities for some longshots to have nice money finishes and and I've listed these races below for greyhound fans and racing fans in general to check out. Thanks for reading and good luck with your wagers.
Race 1 - 583 yards - Grade D - KIOWA RELEASE - 7 box - He is posted well for his mid-track running style and he's got a nice combination of early speed and a late closing move that should have him in the hunt down the stretch for a nice money finish. Odds should be good on him and worth taking a shot on.
Race 2 - 583 yards - Grade M - LODWICK - 4 box - Another decent longshot possibility who has encountered much trouble in 3 of his 4 official starts in his short career. This young pup may turn out to be the surprise of the evening if he can find some running room on the inside,
Race13- 660 yards - Grade A - MOONLIGHT CRUSH - 5 box - He's a recent transfer from Derby Lane and so far seems to like the Southland track. With only a schooling effort and two official starts to show since his arrival the public may let him go off at decent odds and since he ran well over the distance course at St. Pete he's worth a play here. He is certainly capable of a big effort and while I don't look for him among the early leaders in this race, I do think he mounts a strong stretch drive with a big late move and it could be just enough for the win.
