Southland's 5 Up & Coming young greyhounds to watch in July

July 5th, 2016

Welcome to another Southland monthly preview of the Five Up & Coming Young Greyhounds To Watch. July's selections consist of some hard running youngsters that have started their careers with some impressive wins and a few that are just hitting the track. There were quite a few greyhounds that had credentials to make this list and the choices were certainly tough to make but I believe the selections below all have the potential to be Southland stars. As many of our regular readers probably know, the only requirement that I use in selecting the 5 up and coming young greyhounds to watch each month is that they have had no more then 10 official starts prior to being selected. I try to give updates on the progress of these selections every few months so be sure to check back for those. I will have a recap of the past few months choices in a week or so, be sure to check back for that. Thanks for reading and good luck with your wagering opportunities. Please remember that BetAmerica is always available to answer any questions or concerns you may have about wagering online.

FENYA - 1 start - 1-0-0-0 - With only two schooling races and one official start to go by she's already showed signs of being a greyhound to watch in the coming months. Good efforts by her in both schooling races and then blows the field away with a 14 length win in her first official start. She ran a 32.03 in that contest and really turned on the speed coming down the stretch, she looks to have a bright future at Southland. Next race - Wednesday, July 6 - race 1 - box 6 - Grade D

FLY M WEST -  7 starts - 4-1-0-1 - In just 7 starts he's gone from Grade M to Grade A with 4 wins already in his very young career. Speaking of which, in his first Grade A race, he drew the one box, set the pace and led all the way to the stretch before being caught and finishing 4th. Blazing early speed is one of his strengths and with a mid to inside running style should find himself in good position more often then not. Next race - Wednesday, July 6 - race 5 - box 4 - Grade A

JS JOHNNY CASH - 1 start - 1-0-0-0 - An impressive young greyhound who's undefeated in his very short racing career at Southland. He won both his schooling races, one by 8 1/2 lengths and the other one by 10 lengths. He follows up with another win in his first official start, winning by 4 lengths in that one. Early speed galore and a late kick will prove valuable to this talented runner, he likes the inside and has shown to be very capable of running from any starting position. Future is definitely bright at Southland for this young star.

MR. FARON YOUNG - 4 starts - 2-1-0-1 - A wide runner with a big rush and a good closing kick, he's gotten my attention for sure. In four races so far, he's shown no quit at all, he's shown the ability to run thru trouble and a solid determination to run down the leaders. Keep an eye on this young greyhound for sure. Next race - Thursday, July 7 - race 1 - box 2 - Grade C

UNORETHATDOXX - 0 starts - 0-0-0-0 - A Djays Octane pup with two wins in two schooling races. Has gone to the front in both of them and maintained the lead and I'm willing to put him on the up and coming list as it should be interesting to watch his development over the next few months. I think he's got the potential but only time will tell. Next race - Wednesday, July 6 - race 2 - box 7 - Grade M
