Sprint Classic Round 1
It’s time for the best greyhounds at the racetrack to prove their worth again here at bestbet Jacksonville. Tonight starts the 2016 edition of the $20,000 bestbet Sprint Classic. Sixty-Four of the best greyhounds at the racetrack and ready to strap on the muzzles and start off the completion for the cash and crown in this stakes. Loads of talent are on tap and we have several races tonight were you could see a spot play and exploit it into some cash winnings. Let’s take a closer look at the 8 races for round 1 and see if we can get you cashing some tickets tonight.
Race 4 – Stakes winner in his best box? YEP! That’s just what Ln Houdini has in this effort. He is a whole different greyhound from this starting box and I expect a huge winning trip in this one. Remember his stakes win, the James J Patton Silver Cup, came from this same starting box. The race for place should be between the solid grade A chaser Tr’s Bisquit, the early leader and front running threat Any Road, and the fast closing home bred factor that is Blank Spaces. (8-3-2-6)
Race 7 – Big battle up front in this effort. Hey Hey Daddy has really gotten his timing down as of late and has won 4 of his last 6 efforts, but he will not be alone on the early lead in this race. Last year’s winner, Cj’s Colin, is an early speed machine in his own right and will be duking it out on the front end all the way to the stretch. Daddy is not as short late as Colin is, so advantage to him at the wire. Both better pay attention to the solid grade A’s Sheezsohot, who is posted well and can come on strong late, and Boc’s Andross, who might not win a bunch, but has been in the cask in 5 of 6 races. (8-4-3-6)
Race 10 – The old guard shows up again here as several stake contenders from the past are posted and ready to roll in this effort. Pullanallnighter was a puppy stakes winner, and from the one box, she is pretty dawn dangerous. Clearly she won’t be in the early lead in this race, as that is reserved for the best ankle burner at the racetrack Cj’s Sadie, but late she is not as short as the rest and would find a way to win this effort. That is if she can hold off the hot and cold running Ww’s Sammy at the finish line. When Sammy wants to run, which she might from this post, she can be unstoppable at times. Tonight could be one of those efforts. Sadie should set the pace to the stretch and get overtaken late, but don’t sleep on Rams Big Dan T either. This recent puppy stakes finalist has good raw and could be a factor for the win throughout in this effort. (1-2-3-6)
Race 11 – With 5 wins and 6 starts it’s tough to pick against Kc’s Todd, so I won’t. This early speed threat gets a good outside post positions and no one else in the race that should be able to match him to the turn. That means he will be unabated to the lead. The only question is can he hold on at the wire and win? There are several talented closers here and it could get very interesting in the final few steps of this effort. Real Good Feelin is waking up and rounding back into form and that best time of 30.19 seconds is not just there for looks. Mac’s Melanie has an even faster best time, but the on again off again runner is unpredictable at best. Let’s not overlook the puppy stakes champ either. Pat C Outbounds has clearly the best in the finals a couple months back, but needs to return to form after a couple of rough trips in his last few efforts. Potential is there, maybe he finds his stakes mojo again tonight. (8-7-3-4)
Race 12 – Talk about finishes! This one could be one for the ages. Here we have some early speeders trying to stretch the pace all the way to the wire for the win, and some great closers, including the fastest of all time, trying to get to them before the finish line. Kmz Kraken just set the track record in her 12th career start and looks to keep up the good work in this effort. Loads of speed are at his disposal, but he will need to catch the front runners from this favorable post to get the job done in round 1. Flying Chandler has the best early speed, but is short late and will more likely surrender once again tonight. Tough To Much is back on track with back to back wins and has shown some good early foot of his own as of late. The posts help both of these runners, and if they get too far gone too early, they have a chance to win. Kane’s Hollywood also gets some love as he is coming off a win, posted up well, and has enough late speed to get up into the money before time runs out. (3-8-1-2)
Race 13 – Gear shifting time here in the 13th as crowd favorite Charlie Bale gets back on track after an over anxious effort two races back. If you have seen him run before, you know, he is as fast as he wants to be and no lead in any race is safe. He has run down the best at the racetrack from behind, and against this field, he is clearly the choice. Unstoppable might be the right word here. Pushing the front end will be the duo of Sunday Funday and the resurging runner Ww’s Lost Girl. Bother greyhounds have enough early speed to be in control in the early stages, but neither have enough to hold off Charlie in the stretch and take home the victory. No matter how many lengths they get, he will find a way to catch them late. Don’t forget about Cbj Sassafras in this race. This solid grade A closer will be coming on strong late too and although winning might be tough, he is a great play under on your tickets tonight. (7-5-3-4)
Race 15 – The one that everyone has been waiting for. All-American Need My Moneynow goes to post in the 15th race from arguably his best starting box, the 8. Do you need more ammunition for your pick? How about he is currently running on an 8 race win streak? How about he has won 2/3 of his races at Orange Park? How about he has not missed the quiniela in 22 straight races, and that he has seen the wire first in 14 of his last 17 starts? QUESTIONS??? NONE! He wins! Chasing the leader should be a trio of talented puppies as they vie for next best at the wire. Each Charlie has won 6 of 14 and has shown she can contend with or without the early lead in any race. Lee Tuco is a good closer that never gives up in any starts and Jilian Of Ruckus might contend early with a great break and a solid rush from a good post, but late she will be no match for the rest. (8-4-6-2)

Race 2 – Tough talented race here with several solid grade A’s, but someone has to win. Pure puppy power plus the post position makes Idaho Kinky a tough out in this race. He loves the inside and should be around close to the leaders early and prove best late for the W. He will have to work though as the fast closing Pat C Dashboard is really at home in that 8 box and will make a late charge to challenge. Ln Roxy is a bit all or nothing but tough to ignore 4 wins in 6 races, and Hey Pretty Baby looks to get back on track here. The post helps, but a big break will be needed to contend.
