Sprint Classic Round 2
The second round of the 2016 $20,000 bestbet Sprint Classic is upon us and the rivals get another chance to get into the action and take home some much needed qualifying points. Several of the top names, I’m talking to you All-American Need My Moneynow, Last year’s winner Cj’s Colin, and crown favorite Charlie Bale, didn’t put up winning trips in round 1 and could use a rebound in this second night of qualifying to get back in position with the leaders. Let’s take a closer look at the field, as all 8 races return, as see if we can get you cashing some tickets this weekend at bestbet Jacksonville.
Race 4 – Rebound time as Charlie Bale gets another shot to shine on the racetrack. Here there is only one or two big early speeders to steal the front, so he should be able to be closer early on and find room to run from the 1 box tonight. He has gears the others wish they had late and he will run down whoever is in front of him here to score the 19 points. Early both last year’s winner, Cj’s Colin, and She’s A Mystery will be coming to run and each will be looking to take away the early lead from the field. The problem is that both are short late and will pay for it in the stretch. If things go their way behind them, either might pull off the upset. Don’t forget about Gs Viola either. Her last trip was trouble ridden and has shown in the past that she can be a force when clear. A big break is needed here if she wants to contend. (1-3-6-7)
Race 7 – This evenly matched up race should be fun to watch as the early speeders will look to wire the field on the lead and the closers will come flying up late to challenge and maybe steal away the win. Lee Tuco is my pick. This puppy has been getting more consistent with every start and has been closing like a madman in each and every race. Posted well inside here, I think he does just enough in the stretch to score a win after just missing in round 1. Leading the way should be the former puppy stakes champ, Pullanallnighter. Nighter is money from the start, but short late in almost all of her races. Could she still away the win here? Sure is she wants to go, but I expect another surrender in this one. Others to consider including Pat C Dashboard, who is a solid grade A and has good closing speed late in the race, and the well posted Ww’s Cecilia who is looking to get back on track after falling in round 1. (3-5-1-4)
Race 9 – DQ was hot in round 1 and should keep up the good work in this effort. Real Good Feelin was one of the non-winners in her first trip in qualifying, but with a good post and great late speed, she will find a way to win this one. She will have her work cut out for her though if she wants to post up the W at the finish line. Newcomer Jilian Of Ruckus will surely be breaking fast from an ideal rail post position and pushing the pace all the way to the finish line. Closer Cbj Sassafras will also be coming late and gaining ground with each and every step that he takes around the oval. Another surprise might come from the recent puppy stakes finalist Rams Big Dan T. Sure his last couple have been disappointing to say the least, but he could rebound in this effort and take them all down if the planets are aligned. (8-2-1-7)
Race 10 – Ok All-American time this time out for Need My Moneynow. His first effort from the 8 box in round 1 was not up to par. Here he gets a greyhound rail post and has the best early speed in the bunch. I expect him to show up and put up another stellar winning effort in this race. Chasing early and pushing the leader for the majority of this effort should be Ww’s Lost Girl. Loads of early speed and a great post position lead to this greyhound being a threat from box to wire. Sure she is a big short late on occasion, but tonight she keeps it tough to the wire. Flying Bass is another early speeder that will throw his hat into the ring early on in this effort and could prompt the pace as well, but all the chasers should be wary of Ln J Co late in this too. This stalking strong runner is a solid grade A that likes the outside part of the racetrack. If he gets loose early, he will be a threat as well. (2-1-4-7)
Race 11 – The new track record holder, Kmz Kraken, finally gets another rail post and that will be the difference maker for her in this effort. What happened last time she was on the rail, how about she just ran the fastest time ever at Orange Park. This closer will be too close too early to keep out of the winners circle tonight. Strong closers abound in this effort and we will see a bunch of them in contention late for the win here. Stakes vet Sheezsohot has been running tough as of late and will continue the hotness once again in this effort. New arrival Idaho Kinky loves the rail and the 1 box might just make him a major factor in this effort. Don’t count him out from winning as he has the chops to get it done, that is if he gets out of the starting box well in this effort. Kc’s Tess is another greyhound not to miss out on. Even though she is not in grade A, she has not missed the money in 6 straight and loves the starting box in this effort. (2-4-1-8)
Race 12 – Better post = better result for the recent puppy stakes winner Pat C Outbounds. This greyhound ran a big race in 2nd in round 1 and looks to add to that momentum in this race. All she has to do is be in the conversation early on and she will have no problem taking home the win at the wire. Someone that will try and upset here will be the first round winner and super closer Hey Pretty Baby. Coming from LAST in round 1, she drove by everyone to win, she will have to break better here if she wants to contend for the top spot at the wire. Others to think about include the rising star Easi Charlie, who is a solid grade A and has won almost half of her official starts, and the ship in Trackinfo Lisbet. Not as sharp lately as she was when she got here, but a big break and should be a major force in this effort, especially from the outside post position. (1-6-4-7)
Race 13 – Now for the big big dawg over the last several races, Hey Hey Daddy. This girl has really found a groove at the racetrack and although not all of her starts have been wins, she has been in the thick of things forever. Here her closing skills, ok not being as short as the rest skills, will come into play as she is competing against two other tremendously talented early speed greyhounds. Kc’s Todd was a recent first round winner, and winner of 5 of his last 6 starts, who has an amazing rush to the first turn. He is not the same greyhound without the early lead, but to his credit, he has been in front at the turn in almost all of those efforts. Late I think the race for the win will be between these two greyhounds. Both might have to come from off the pace though if they want to win this effort. Cj’s Sadie is arguably the best early speed greyhound at the racetrack and can push the pace to the stretch in any race. Like most she is short late and would a bunch of help behind her to win here. Expect a big early factor and for her to settle in the money late like she has done so many times in the past. Don’t forget about Gs Hal either. Hal might not have the glitz and glamour of the rest, but he has really run well in his last couple of trips and might just be peaking at the right time. (4-2-8-5)

Race 2 – Highly contested race here, probably the toughest on the card, as we feature 4 first round winners in the same race. So what do you do? Well pick them all! LOL! Best of the best of the best here has to be Ln Houdini. No greyhound was more impressive in round 1 and he gets another greyhound outside post in this effort. In a race with early speeders, he can get it done from off the pace as well. It’s a tough one, but he wins. Tough To Much should be the pacesetter in this effort, but being just a tad short late might cost him here even from a great starting box. Never count out multi-stakes finalists Ww’s Sammy from an inside post position and coming into his own star Kc’s Waltrip might have something to say if he can get loose early on.
