Stakes Spot Plays for Laurel Park on Saturday, June 20

A pair of black-type turf sprints will highlight a nice 10-race card at Laurel Park on Saturday. 

Race 7 – Jameela S. 

Eight fillies and mares, with one being a main-track-only entrant, are entered for the dash at six panels on the weeds. #8 Big Earn was very professional in pulling away in the lane to defeat local allowance runners last time out, and while the mare will face much better company on this occasion, I still like her chances from the outside post slot. Trained by Michael Trombetta, the Warrior’s Reward five-year-old has displayed nice improvement this season and is a three-time winner on the course, too. The Maryland-bred bay has a versatile running style to give pilot Jorge Ruiz options in the early stages of the heat. 

#2 Mopo defeated the aforementioned two back and will be the main danger to my top selection. The Phil Capuano pupil sports a 7-1-5-0 mark on this surface and could run a peak race in her third appearance off the shelf with Forest Boyce taking the reins. 

Race 9 – Ben’s Cat S. 

A total of seven males, with one entered for the dirt only, will vie in the second stakes race of the day, which will be run at six panels on the sod. I really like defending champ #5 Whenigettoheaven in the dash with Yedsit Hazlewood in the irons. By Street Magician, the seven-year-old gelding finished a closing third in the deep King T. Leatherbury S. on the surface last time out in his 2026 debut and will be stronger second time back. The Maryland-bred, who is a four-time winner at this locale, will get the jump on his deep-closing rivals as they turn for home, giving him a tactical edge. In a race lacking a confirmed front runner, the Nolan Ramsey pupil could lead the cast every step of the way. 

#7 Had To Have Him will make his third run off the pine and will fill out the exacta from the outside. The talented stalker has been successful at both the distance and over the surface in his lifetime, and the Salzman charge will receive a nice stalking trip from the get-go in the heat beneath regular rider Jevian Toledo.
