Subtle Indian takes speed out west for Kona Gold
Six of Subtle Indian's seven career victories have come at Oaklawn, where he enjoyed a productive meet this spring with four consecutive wins. The latest tally was a 3 3/4-length score in the Count Fleet Sprint H. (G3).
The local contingent is headed by San Onofre, who responded to the addition of blinkers with a one-length score over Wild Dude in the Los Angeles (G3) at Los Alamitos. The latter, a dual Grade 1 winner on his circuit last season, could prove dangerous in his start off the layoff and with an extra furlong to work with.
Coastline, first or second in all three starts since joining the Phil D'Amato barn, enters off a two-month break following a second in the San Carlos (G2). Looking to re-capture some of his old spark is Sahara Sky, winless since taking the 2014 San Carlos for Jerry Hollendorfer.
