The Irish Champion highlight reel

In honor of Saturday's Irish Champion (G1), here's a video retrospective of some superb editions, in chronological order.

1984 - Sadler's Wells holds off Seattle Song in the "Phoenix Champion" at old Phoenix Park. Years later, Seattle Song's maternal grandson Tiznow would outduel Sadler's Wells' maternal grandson Sakhee in an epic Breeders' Cup Classic (G1) in 2001 .

 

1988 - Indian Skimmer prevails in the Phoenix Champion, with another top racemare, defending champion Triptych, in third.
