On Sunday, Nov. 15, nine older pacers, some of which were foes in the division’s Breeders Crown Open Pace Final, visit Rosecroft Raceway in Maryland for the $100,000 Potomac Pace. Let’s look at some of the value wagers that might surface from the event.

First, the four pacers from the Breeders Crown field are (in post position order) This Is The Plan, Backstreet Shadow, Century Farroh, and Bettors Wish. They are undeniably the class of the Potomic Pace field.

The Breeders Crown winner was Century Farroh, who had the easiest trip. Second was Bettors Wish. He raced on the outside half of the mile, still beating Backstreet Shadow, who set the pace and led until deep stretch, where he finished third. This Is The Plan finished off the board.

The Potomoc Pace favorite is most likely to be #6 Bettors Wish. The public’s second choice should be #5 Century Farroh. The value falls upon #2 Backstreet Shadow, who is third choice in the morning line but may go off at odds more generous than his 6-1 morning line.

Backstreet Shadow may be overlooked because a few others in the field could get more action than expected. #1 This Is The Plan, goes from post 10 to post 1 (a drastic and positive post position change). And #3 Harambe Deo, has comparable earnings, as does #8 Stars Align A.

Our value win wager is #2 Backstreet Shadow. To shoot for strong exotic prices we suggest:

Exactas: 2 / 1, 3

Trifectas: 2 / 1, 3, 6, 8 / 1, 3, 6, 8

Good luck!
