Belmont Oaks Contenders

#1 JUST ALOOF (8-1): First contender from the Chad Brown shedrow is a Grade 3 heroine who hasn’t done much wrong in her lifetime. The Justify filly missed by a neck in a blanket finish in the Edgewood (G2) at Churchill last time and will be right there late with even minor improvement in her local debut beneath Manny Franco.

#2 TIME TO DREAM (12-1): Stakes vixen from the Pletcher barn was a solid third in the Wonder Again (G2) in her latest performance and comes in with a 3-2-0-1 mark on the surface in her lifetime. The talented daughter of Not This Time will make her third run off the layoff and will have Edgard Zayas in the stirrups.

#3 KENSINGTON LANE (10-1): Irish import faced a stern test in the Irish 1000 Guineas (G1) last out when fifth and gets more ground to work with in this spot. The Donnacha O’Brien trainee can be very good on her best day and might be well-suited to U. S. racing for a smart outfit. The Starspangledbanner filly picks up Joel Rosario.

#4 FAITHFUL DEPARTED (5-1): Grant Forster's pupil was a strong heroine of the Regret (G3) at Churchill Downs in her most recent showing and fits in this spot with Jose Ortiz accepting the mount. The bay daughter of Yoshida has displayed a powerful turn of foot in her last two tallies in advance of her local bow, and she will be a factor late with something resembling her latest outing.

#5 STORM’S WAKE (10-1): Grade 2 victress was a clear runner-up in the Regret and figures to be an exotics contender in this one. The Brian Lynch trainee is essentially a one-run closer who will need a good pace set up to fire in the affair, but the Oscar Performance filly could get it with Dylan Davis in the irons.

#6 FITZ RIGHT (6-1): Second Brown charge in the field was a convincing winner of the Wonder Again on the course in her latest endeavor and is three-for-three in 2026. The Charlatan sophomore will have no trouble enduring the added distance in the tilt and could sit a good voyage fairly close to the pace from this post, too. Flavien Prat retains the ride.

#7 CARMENSITA (30-1): Argentine import rallied to be third in an allowance race here on Belmont Day and faces a much tougher task in this event. The daughter of Treasure Beach would be a big surprise with Ricardo Santana, Jr. in the pipes.

#8 ABASHIRI (5-2): Top pick is a lightly raced daughter of Frankel who has flashed a lot of ability from a trio of lifetime runs overseas. The Godolphin homebred for the barn of Charlie Appleby was third in the Irish 1000 Guineas last time and lands in a good field that lacks a star. The well-bred bay could peak in her third run off the long absence beneath regular rider William Buick.

#9 ULTIMATE LOVE (10-1): Curlin filly missed by a head at Laurel in her sophomore debut and wouldn’t be a huge surprise in this one. The stakes-winning chestnut has a lot of ability and will be tighter for this tilt for a conditioner who is good the second time back in general. The stalker retains John Velazquez's services.

#10 IMAGINATIONTHELADY (4-1): Walsh trainee is consistently very good and the two-time Grade 2 victress could peak while making her third run of 2026. The classy daughter of Not This Time has improved her Speed rating with every lifetime run to date and will have a clear voyage on the outside of the cast, with Tyler Gaffalione retaining the mount. The Kentucky-bred bay could be the one with her best showing.
