Perryville Stakes Contenders

#1 SOLITUDE DUDE: Three-time stakes winner receives the rail for his local debut and will also make his first run since being transferred to trainer Joe Sharp. The dark bay son of Yaupon didn’t fire at Charles Town last time out, but he can be excellent on his best day, and this distance might be his best one, as well. Jose Ortiz inherits the mount.

#2 TROUBLE CALLING: Talented son of Dialed In moves back to the dirt after flashing a ton of potential on the turf as of late for Greg Foley. The Donamire Farm homebred has solid local dirt experience led by a tally in the Lafayette S. here in April, and I feel that he will be a dangerous player late in this one with Luis Saez riding.

#3 CHIEF WALLABEE: Grade-1 placed son of Constitution retreats to seven furlongs for the initial time since his fine maiden win at Gulfstream Park at first asking. The talented bay has come up short in six straight, though he has faced some of the top horses of his generation, and he wouldn’t be a major surprise to grab a share with regular pilot Alvarado in the irons.

#4 ROSCOE’S BROTHER: Wildcard in the field was super sharp in a pair of fine wins at Del Mar to begin his career and appears to be the inside pace of the race. Mark Glatt-trained son of Violence brings in pilot Emisael Jaramillo for the ride, and the colt will be dangerous if he clears early in his local bow.

#5 AMERICAN MAN: Bay son of Maclean’s Music is twice placed in the graded stakes ranks but most recently comes off a subpar run at Churchill Downs. The Dallas Stewart pupil will need a lifetime best to hit the board in this spot beneath Christian Torres.

#6 DR. KAPUR: Gallant Bob (G2) runner-up ships in from Parz for trainer Saffie Joseph and has some exotics appeal in this endeavor. The McKinzie colt broke his maiden here in October 2025 and will be rallying from off of the early tempo with Tyler Gaffalione in the stirrups.

#7 MO KOKO: Francisco Rodriguez was second in the Shared Belief S. at Del Mar in his latest venture and ships in for his first run at this venue on Saturday. The Mo Town colt will need a major step forward to challenge this strong cast late with Jaime Torres in for the voyage.

#8 I C LIGHT: Outside from the Casse barn was unplaced in his lone prior run on the dirt leading up to this assignment and doesn’t appear to be a nice fit against this group.

#9 STREET BEAST: Ben Colebrook trainee will make his first lifetime run on the dirt in this spot and has also failed to hit the board in four races in succession in advance of this one. The Street Sense colt might be a pace factor, but the sophomore can’t be expected to be a contender inside the final furlong.

#10 DOUBLECENTS: Goldencents three-year-old was a convincing winner of the Harrods Creek S. at Churchill Downs in his last showing and has never been better for trainer Brett Creighton. The bay colt defeated a pair of nice ones in his last showing, and a top-three placing could be within reach if he improves once again. Francisco Arrieta will be on board.

#11 OBLITERATION: Classy colt from the Asmussen shedrow never runs a bad one, and gets back on his favored dirt on this occasion. The bay son of Violence was Grade-1 placed in his lone prior run at seven furlongs, and he could sit a nice trip stalking the pace from this post under the guidance of Flavien Prat.

#12 DEEP FLAME: Rapidly improving Juddmonte homebred dominated the Maxfield S. (G3) at Churchill two back prior to finishing a superb second to Englishman in the Jerkens (G1) at Saratoga most recently, both at the seven-furlong trip. Brad Cox trainee appears to have trained well in two morning moves on the course and will be formidable with something close to his best under Irad.
