Trio Of Lucrative Affairs For Trot And Pace Divisions

Another week of Grand Circuit racing takes place at Mohawk Racetrack, with their program on Saturday, Sept. 17 featuring the $363,000 Peaceful Way Final, $350,000 William Wellwood Memorial Final, and two $35,000 eliminations for mares in the Milton Pace.

The Peaceful Way appears to surround Ariana G, who goes for her seventh-straight win of the season. Winning her elimination by 7 lengths, she has continually asserted her dominance over this division. However, this division is also known to produce chaos and Ariana G could be affected in the event something abnormal happens in the mile.

Local filly Dream Together may be able to overcome a chaotic configuration to beat Ariana G. After sweeping the Pure Ivory Series, she won a division of the Champlain and was runner-up to Ariana G in the elimination last week, being one of a few to ever cut into her large lead. Starting from post 9, she has the speed to be placed into the race.

While the Peaceful Way could have chaos influence the result, the William Wellwood most certainly will be chaotic. The elimination winners, Seven And Seven and What The Hill, have not demonstrated themselves to be standouts of this division, and will receive play off their wins last week.

Aside from her, Waasmula makes her first start since finishing second to Lady Shadow in the $370,000 Roses Are Red Final, getting two sharp qualifiers under her belt recently. Perhaps her layoff will sway the public more strongly towards others but shouldn’t have a impact on her performance.

Lady Shadow leads elimination two despite finishing second in the Artiscape. Against her is Bedroomconfessions, an improving mare pacer who has had success on the Preferred circuit at Mohawk. At the right price, she’d be worth using to defeat Lady Shadow.
