Tuesday Rosecroft card offers early week possibilities
Those who still may be recovering from the abundance of horse racing action highlighted by Nyquist's victory in the Kentucky Derby on Saturday will look to recoup - or perhaps pad their bankrolls - by playing several of the races on the Tuesday card at Rosecroft Raceway.
In fact, Tuesday's opener for conditioned pacers offers some instant plays. One America (Frank Milby) was the beaten favorite at this non-winners of $2500 last five starts class last week for owner-trainer Ken Schlotzhauer and looks to be the controlling speed. But Bad Man Sam (Russell Foster) drops out of a non-winners of $4000 last five class and looms a serious contender despite post eight. James Riverside (John Gazzerro) also gets some class relief and should be a contender late from post nine in the second tier.
Then nearing the midway point of the card give Rebel Soldier (Kim Vincent) a chance to repeat despite making the modest climb from non-winners of $2500 last five to the non-winners of $4000 last five level. A six-year-old Quik Pulse Mindale gelding owned, bred and trained by Steve Warrington of Sanabelle Island fame, Rebel Soldier rallied from far back last week to notch his third win in 12 starts this year and could repeat despite the class jump.
Then two races later in the featured $12,000 Open 2 Handicap for older pacers, look for either Concert Artist (Chris Offutt), Cabbie's Delight (Jason Thompson) or Diamondkeeper (Kim Vincent) to emerge victorious and end Hi Sir's three-race win streak. Concert Artist owns a win at this level and both Cabbie's Delight and Diamondkeeper have raced well in the top class and all three will have to be on top of their game to upend Hi Sir (Russell Foster), who has regained his winning ways after a slow start to the meet for his owner-trainer.

The four-year-old Cam's Rocket stallion has won 14 of 18 lifetime outings.
