TwinSpires Online Handicapping Championship on Saturday: Largest Vegas qualifier offers more than $270,000 in cash and prizes, berth to NHC

The 5^th Annual TwinSpires.com Online Handicapping Championship is Saturday, Nov. 28, and the official horse racing wagering site of the Kentucky Derby and Breeders’ Cup is offering players a chance at the more than $270,000 in cash and prizes for as little as $25 beginning Monday, Nov. 23.

Up to 500 horse racing handicappers are expected to compete for a top prize of $10,000 cash and a berth at the 2016 National Handicapping Championship to be held Jan. 28-30 at Treasure Island Las Vegas. The NHC is the richest handicapping tournament in horse racing with a purse estimated at $2.5 million.

Previous winners of the TwinSpires Championship include Rocky Hardy (2014), Bruce Warren (2013), Betty Christian (2012), and James Nelson (2011). Other NHC qualifiers via TwinSpires.com include Michael Beychok, who in 2011 took down the largest tournament prize ever when he won the NHC and $1-million.

Players may buy in to the TwinSpires Championship on Saturday for $500 per entry or qualify in satellite/feeder tournaments through Nov. 27 for between $25 and $75. Similar to the NHC rules, each contest consists of $2 mythical Win/Place bets with payouts capped at 20-to-1 to win and 10-to-1 to place.
