A total of nine fillies and mares will speed 5 1/2 furlongs on the Churchill Downs lawn in Friday’s $500,000 Unbridled Sidney S.
Reigning Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint (G1) star #6 Shisospicy (9-5) will make her 2026 debut in the tilt and aim to move her mark to a sterling 6-for-6 in turf sprint stakes on U.S. sod.
Shisospicy – With
- $5 Trifecta: key 6 with 3,5,9 ($30)
- 50-cent Superfecta: 6 with 3,5,9 with 3,5,9 with ALL ($18)
Shisospicy – Against
- $2 Trifecta: 3,5,9 with 3,5,6,9 with 3,5,6,9 ($36)
- 50-cent Trifecta: box 3,5,6,9 ($12)
Trained by Jose D’Angelo, Shisospicy has blazing early speed and was also a winner in her lone prior run at this venue, dominating the Mamzelle (G3) on May 10. The Mitole filly has recorded some rapid morning moves in anticipation of her return and will be formidable with her best run beneath Irad Ortiz, Jr.
Three-time Grade 3 winner and defending champ #5 Queen Maxima (7-2) ran a bit of a subpar race when third at a short price in the Monrovia (G3) at Santa Anita in her second run of the season, but the chestnut daughter of Bucchero will improve after putting in a pair of fast morning moves leading up to her return to this venue. The Florida-bred mare will stalk the pace early on with regular pilot Juan Hernandez taking the reins.
The Mark Casse-trained #3 Time to Dazzle (15-1) is a Grade 2 heroine who will be making her second run since coming back from the Saudi desert, and I liked her fourth-place run in the deep Giant’s Causeway (G2) at Keeneland on April 12. The Not This Time mare doesn’t win all that often, but she is consistently good in general, and the gray could have some tired legs to run at late if the pace backs up in the stretch. Jose Ortiz will be in the stirrups.

Wesley Ward’s #9 Shoot It True (6-1) has been first or second in all four lifetime runs on the green in advance of the tilt and makes her second run since October. The Munnings four-year-old was a nice second in an allowance dash at Keeneland last out and will move forward in this heat with a clear draw on the outside of the field. The dark bay was a nice second to Queen Maxima in her 2025 finale and has a chance with Joel Rosario in the stirrups.
