A big cast of 12 sophomore fillies will go postward in the $300,000 Mrs. Revere S. (G2) at Churchill Downs on Friday. The star attraction in the contest is #1 Lush Lips (7-5), who won the Queen Elizabeth II S. (G1) at Keeneland in October and then brought a bid of $3.7 million from Dixiana Farms in November.

Mrs. Revere Stakes Analysis
Trained by Brendan Walsh, the daughter of Ten Sovereigns has been excellent since arriving in this barn with a 6-3-3-0 mark and more than $740,000 in earnings. The once-headstrong bay has learned to settle early in her races as of late, and I feel that it has done wonders for her.
The import was runner-up in the Edgewood S. (G2) on the course four back, which was followed by a dominant tally in the Tepin S. beneath the Twin Spires on June 28. She preceded her coup at Keeneland with a close runner-up result in the Del Mar Oaks (G1) two back in her lone trek to the Golden State.
I’m not thrilled that the excellent filly received the rail in a big field, and the cutback in distance is a minor concern to me, but she might simply be too good for this group even if her trip is not ideal, nonetheless. Tyler Gaffalione will guide the favorite.
The Brad Cox-trained #7 Bracelet (10-1) is interesting in this spot, second time off the break in her graded debut. By Authentic, the $300,000 yearling flashed nice potential on the synthetic at Turfway Park earlier in the season, but took a step forward on the green at Keeneland last time. The Kentucky-bred toppled a nice allowance field with relative ease in that contest and could easily improve against this group. She also has early speed in a field lacking that trait, so if Irad can get her into the first flight early, she could get the jump on the favorite in the lane, perhaps.
One-run closing type #10 Pretty Picture (10-1) suffered her first defeat in the Sands Point S. (G2) in her latest venture for conditioner Chad Brown. The Three Chimneys homebred did impress me in the affair, however, as she made up a lot of ground late when finishing a clear third while behind a very slow early tempo. The Munnings filly ships in here for a top turf barn and will be passing runners in the lane with Flavien Prat in the silks.
Mark Casse’s #4 Classic Q (3-1) showed a new dimension last time when coming from near the back to be second best in the Valley View S. (G2) at Keeneland most recently. The gray daughter of Classic Empire was a stakes winner going wire-to-wire at Saratoga in the summer, and her versatility is a major weapon in this sizable field. Jose Ortiz retains the mount.
