How to bet the 2026 Top Flight Stakes

March 27th, 2026

A total of six fillies and mares will run 1 1/8 miles on the Aqueduct dirt in Sunday’s $175,000 Top Flight S.

The Todd Pletcher-trained #6 Scalable (2-1) showed a new dimension last time in the Ladies S. when laying close to the pace early before driving home a convincing winner late, and while she will be popular in the betting, I feel like the five-year-old will be very difficult to upend in this spot with even minor improvement, nonetheless.

By Speightstown, Scalable is a Grade 3 winner with a big turn of foot and affinity for this course, but her ability to stay in range leading up to the turn for home will make her even more dangerous going forward.

Scalable has won or placed in five of six assignments at Aqueduct and received a perfect outside post slot for her second run of 2026. The Kentucky-bred gray has a pair of speedy sorts drawn inside of her and will likely have an ideal voyage around the surface with Kendrick Carmouche in the silks

Chad Brown’s #3 Lost Horizon (3-1) has shown some improvement with every lifetime run to date and could peak while making her third run off the shelf in her stakes bow. The four-year-old daughter of Into Mischief is out of a fantastic mare and was very sharp in dusting allowance runners on the oval and at the trip last time out in her second run around two turns. The Peter Brant homebred didn’t defeat a great group in her latest venture, but the filly is on the improve and could enjoy a nice trip from the second flight on the backside in the affair. Flavien Prat will guide the bay.

#2 Ourdaydreamingirl (9-2) had what might have been a nice prep for this when third in the Interborough S. at seven furlongs in her 2026 debut and is the type that has accrued five stakes placings in her 12-race career. Conditioned by Louis Linder, the four-year-old daughter of Instagrand was sent from the break last time, a move that is not usually conducive to her running style, and I expect her to be more relaxed in the early stages of this race prior to putting in her strong late run. Sahin Civaci picks up the mount atop the exotics contender.
