NEW: A quick guide on how to build your own Horse Racing Parlay using the TwinSpires App

December 3rd, 2025

A quick guide on how to build your own Horse Racing Parlay using TwinSpires, in a nutshell:

Parlay betting with the TwinSpires App allows you to combine multiple races into a single bet, even if the races are not sequential on the card!

When a horse player decides they want to create a betting parlay, they can choose what the desired first leg (first bet) on their parlay ticket will be. Once you select the first bet inside the TwinSpires betting app, the option to create a parlay will appear next to your dollar amount selector, or 'submit bet' button, which, when you click on this now appearing link, will begin the threading of your legs (series of bets). For the most detailed guide, please visit this more extensive Parlay hub page.

  1. CREATING A PARLAY
    1. Enter Turfway Park racetrack
      1. Currently, for launch, only Turfway Park is available for Parlay betting
    2. Decide what you want the base cost of the parlay to be
      1. Example: $10 for the full parlay bet ticket
    3. Select what your first bet in the sequence will be. (aka first leg of the parlay)
      1. Example: a Win Bet
    4. A 'CREATE PARLAY' link will now appear below the 'cost', 'BET' button, and 'Bet Share' icon button
      1. Hint: if you do not see this link, check that you clicked on one of the radial buttons next to a horse for your first leg bet type
    5. Click the 'CREATE PARLAY' linked button
      1. You will see a brief explainer screen, check the box for 'please do not show again', and then click the 'Let's Start' button
    6. The first bet you selected in step 'C' above will now appear in a lightly shaded area above two new buttons
      1. See Race Number + Bet Type + Program Number situated above the 'Cancel Parlay' and 'Add Race' buttons
        1. 'Cancel Parlay' will remove the parlay and end the parlay creation process for that ticket
        2. 'Add Race' will allow you to move to the next leg in your parlay sequence
    7. When all legs or bets in your sequence are completed, triple-check your sequence
      1. Note that currently, there is a limit on the total number of legs you can enter into a parlay
    8. Click the 'Review Parlay' button
    9. Click the 'Submit' button, and you will see a green screen confirming that the 'Parlay Wager' was successfully placed
    10. The fastest way to see your parlay bet sequence is with the 'MY BETS' view, a button located in the bottom App navigation

TwinSpires Mobile App: Create Your Own Parlay

After entering the racetrack of interest, you will want to select the first race of the parlay sequence in the race drop-down menu. Select your straight bet-type, followed by the total spend for the FULL parlay.

Once you are in the race, have the bet-type selected (Win/Place/Show), and have chosen your investment amount (ex. $10), then select the horse(s) you want included with the first leg bet.

Clicking on the radial button by the horse will cause a blue 'Create Parlay' link to appear.

On your first time participating in a Parlay, you will see an interstitial screen that explains the current experience's usage parameters.

  • Current Play Details
    • On a single race card, you can include up to a maximum of 6 different races
    • Combine any straight bets of Win, Place, and Show
    • Experience the progression of the parlay, as each successful leg completes, the winnings are moved towards the next leg in the bet ticket sequence
    • Which also means if a leg fails, the bet ends. You cannot cancel a Parlay once the first leg has gone off
    • Note that the full parlay investment is set with the first leg's bet
    • Also note that Applied Bonus Bets will be removed when you start a parlay

An example 3-leg parlay bet:

A $2 three-leg parlay for Turfway Park today.

  1. Race 1, Win Bet, on #1
  2. Race 5, Show Bet, on #7
  3. Race 9, Win/Place Bet, on #11

The result will be a starting $2 investment, as winnings will be carried forward into the next bet until the bet completes as a win, or, sadly, ends with a loss.

Horse players can still find the Parlay Central location for pre-crafted Parlays when available.
