A total of five stakes races will be hosted by Monmouth Park on Saturday, and a trio of the black-type events will comprise the Pick 3 of the Week.
Race 8 Wagers
- $1 Pick 3: 1,3,4 with 1,2,3 with 6,9 ($18)
- $3 Pick 3: 1,3,4 with 3 with 6,9 ($18)
Race 8 – Pegasus S.
I feel that three contenders in the race for sophomores stand out in the first piece of the play. Long Branch S. hero #1 Kentucky Outlaw is once-beaten for Felissa Dunn and has good speed from the inside post slot on a course that often plays kindly to his running style. The son of Outwork will race with blinkers for the second time and has posted three swift morning moves as of late. Kendrick Carmouche will be in the stirrups.
#3 Garamond defeated a highly touted colt in an allowance heat at Aqueduct in his latest venture and looms large for Chad Brown. The Juddmonte homebred will be forcing the action early for Chad Brown. #4 Valentinian has earned triple-digit Brisnet Late Pace figures in all three lifetime showings and will be moving best of all late in the tilt for trainer Todd Pletcher.

Race 9 – Monmouth S.
Eight are entered for the grass in the middle leg, a 1 1/8-mile turf event worth $150,000. I have possibly overestimated the abilities of the Chad Brown-trained #3 Redistricting to this stage of his development, but the Kingman five-year-old is the class of this field and has to be used under Flavien Prat. The gelding was a close fifth in the Turf Classic (G1) at Churchill Downs last time and could peak in his third off the shelf.
European import #2 Atlast and the returning #1 Kingmax, are the two likely upsetters if the top selection fails to fire.
Race 10 – Salvator Mile S. (G3)
The closing leg of the sequence attracted nine, including #9 Bishops Bay for conditioner Brad Cox. The Uncle Mo five-year-old dons a strong lifetime mark of 9-6-3-0 and rates a huge chance with his top performance on Saturday. Flavien Prat retaining the ride atop the Grade 3 victor is a positive sign.
Canadian classic winner #6 Vitality was a sharp winner in his 2025 debut at Gulfstream Park and might have the best chance if the favorite doesn’t run his ‘A’ race. Street Boss gelding possesses a nice turn of foot and will be moving best of all in the latter stages under Frankie Pennington.
