Pick 3 of the Week: Oaklawn Park Saturday, March 28

March 26th, 2026

On the final Saturday in March, I’ll look to Oaklawn Park for the Pick 3 of the Week with an all-sprint sequence in the middle of their fantastic card.

Race 6 Wager

  • $4 Pick 3: 4 with 1,3,5 with 3,4,9 ($36)

Race 6 – Maiden Special Weight

Eight will run six furlongs in the opening part of the play. I will start with a single to commence the wager with #4 Dawn At Normandy (3-1). The five-year-old gelding has put in a trio of solid races in succession, led by a nice second to the promising Taptastic last time out at one mile. Kin to five winners from five siblings who have raced, the Cipriano Contreras trainee will cut back in distance for his second race off the claim and looms large with even slight improvement on Saturday. The five-year-old son of Omaha Beach will be giving weight to the majority of his younger foes, but I’m not overly concerned about it. Emmanuel Esquivel will ride.

Race 7 – Allowance

A total of seven boys will speed six panels in the middle leg. I’ll go three-deep in the race with top pick #5 Run Classic (4-1), who checked in third in a swiftly run race on the oval in his first showing off of the lengthy layoff. The Runhappy eight-year-old possesses a lot of back class and has also hit the board in five of his six local outings to date, too. Rafael Bejarano will take the reins

The Saffie Joseph duo of #1 Practically Dark (2-1) and #3 Mish (9-5) will also be included in the dash.

Race 8 – Allowance

The final piece attracted nine, including #4 Dancin for Gold (4-1), who will make his first appearance since the summer. The Terry Eoff trainee put in a pair of excellent winning runs in Kentucky to conclude his sophomore season and will be very tough if he’s ready off the break. Goldencents gelding will have Christian Torres in the silks.

#3 Miracle Worker (3-1) looked good in defeating claiming runners last time and will go first off the claim for Contreras. The Into Mischief six-year-old will be involved from the start under Esquivel. #9 Shape Note (9-5) is a six-time winner on the dirt and comes off a nice effort on the grounds at this level last out. Irad will guide the Mike Maker pupil.
