Race 1
1st: (5) I LUCKED OUT – made his PID debut here and just missed going gate to wire from post 9. He tired badly after pressing a strong pace, then he dropped down to this level and held well to be third.
2nd: (2) FERRARI KID – when he’s good, he’s real good and he was last out when he held on by a neck on the dirt in an off-the-turf event at Mountaineer. He tired in his PID debut two starts back against this level.
3rd: (7) CLASSIC KING – missed by a neck in his PID debut against this claiming level, then ran evenly in his next two starts.
Race 2
1st: (2) GROWTH CAPITAL – won three in a row on the turf at Tampa Bay, then finished out of the money in his PID debut. He dropped way down in class last out to no avail and now takes another drop for Juan Arriagada, who wins 27% with his claimers.
2nd: (6) OSCARSSON – beat similar two starts back in his PID debut, then raced evenly when moved way up in class off the claim by Gerry Brooks. Martina Rojas gets the ride – 11% with her sprint rides.
3rd: (5) TRUTH AND HONESTY – held on second in his second PID start, then just missed going gate to wire.
Race 3
1st: (5) HAPPYISASHAPPYDOES – horse for the course romped three starts back against this level, then was a good second when moved up in class. He dropped back down in class and missed by a head as the odds-on favorite.
2nd: (3) DECLARED – horse for the course raced evenly in his seasonal debut, then came back with an improved effort against better. Son of Hard Spun drops down in class for John Bourke, who wins 30% third start off the layoff.
Race 4
1st: (1) QUEEN’S WREATH – showed some talent in her first two starts on the dirt, then broke her maiden easily in a turf sprint at Laurel. She just missed here at today’s distance in her PID debut and adds Lasix.
2nd: (5) WHEREVER WE ARE – was a good second in her PID debut with Lasix added. She came back to break her maiden then won again. Daughter of Win Win Win moves up in class off the claim by Mike Rogers.
3rd: (8) ANHINGA – went gate to wire in fast time, then held well when sent to the lead.
Race 5
1st: (5) TRIAL – missed by a length against this class level at Turfway Park two starts back, then raced evenly when she broke poorly from post 1. Daughter of Runhappy draws well with Willie Martinez – flat-bet profit with his sprint starters.
2nd: (9) RIGHT NOW – was a good third going two turns two starts back as the 13-10 favorite, then missed by a head going six furlongs. Tim Girten wins 36% first start after being beaten as the favorite. Pablo Morales gets the ride.
3rd: (1) COME TO MAMA – beat first-level allowance foes three starts back going short, then raced evenly going two turns.
Race 6
1st: (6) FOXY JUNIOR – was beaten two lengths against this stakes level last year, then won three in a row on dirt. After racing fourth going two turns on the dirt at Delaware Park, she came back to win going seven furlongs in the mud at Parx.
2nd: (8) CANDY REWARD – horse for the course comes in here off four straight wins, three of which came here. She won a two-turn stakes race in fast time last year for Brandon Kulp, who wins 24% second start off the layoff and 23% first start after a win.
3rd: (7) CORINNA – beat stakes foes by almost six lengths on the turf at Penn National.
Race 7
1st: (10) DIAMOND DUST – went gate to wire against this class level going six furlongs in fast time, then tired last out. Scooter Davis wins 36% with his allowance runners and 28% with his allowance runners. Rosario Montanez wins 48% with Davis.
2nd: (5) URBAN LEGEND – ran well from post 10 in a turf sprint at Churchill two starts back, then chased the pace wide at Saratoga. Jose D’Angelo wins 20% with the surface switch and 19% off medium rest.
3rd: (4) YOU BET A FORTUNE – speedball romped in both starts on the Tapeta here for Jay Bernardini.
Race 8
1st: (2) BUCCHINI – finished up last year with a good second on the Tapeta at Gulfstream Park, then showed good speed in her PID debut here two weeks ago. She drops in class while picking up Antonio Gallardo.
2nd: (1) ITZA KITTY – was soundly beaten in her first two career starts on the turf, then came here and was an even fourth behind a repeat winner. She came back and raced evenly and now drops down in class for Linda Rice – 30% with this move.
3rd: (3) MY ANGEL DOES – most of her Tapeta starts came going two turns, then she was third last out going one turn.
