Wednesday Harness Preview for 4/9/2014

Wednesday evenings at Dover Downs and Pompano Parks often highlight the best older trotters on the grounds and both five-eighths mile ovals will also offer several events for younger horses this evening as spring may have finally arrived.
In the third race on the Dover card, look for Dreamin A Dream to prevail in this non-winners of two class for trotters. Last week he was shuffled back and buried past the half then rallied late to finish second in a very good effort. Despite drawing the outside here, Dreamin A Dream should be able to pick up live cover early and overhaul his rivals in the lane.
Several races later in the featured $100,000 Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund final for three-year-old trotting colts, give Bosston Bnz a chance to upset I Like My Boss in this event. I LIke My Boss has won all three of his starts this year for trainer Bob Shahan and will loom as the 2-5 choice here, but Bosston Bnz raced well while settling for third last week and could control the tempo from the outset for trainer-driver Art Stafford, Jr.
Two races later in the Open Handicap for trotters, look for Awsome Valley (Tony Morgan) to emerge victorious in this affair. This Ryan McInnis trainee owns a 2-3-3 slate, $40,000 bankroll and seasonal mark of 1:53 for owner Barbara Boes and he should be able to dictate the fractions from the outset and hold safe Enrico As and I'm So Striking in the lane.
One race later in the Winners Over class for trotters, give Looking Hanover one more chance to finally attain his first victory of the campaign. This durable, talented eight-year-old Muscles Yankee gelding sports a pair of second-place finishes and a trio of third-place efforts from nine winless starts for trainer Ed Gannon, Jr. But the former Open Hcp champ at Dover and Yonkers deserves one more play to garner his first win of 2014.
Then three races later in the 14th, a tough, winners over $45,000 lifetime class for younger trotters someday looking to join the Open ranks, take a shot at Pounce Hanover, perhaps already overlooked at 6-1 on the morning line. This Vic Kirby-trained and driven trotter has won three of nine starts and sports a stellar 1:54 mark this season and is worth backing in a tough group that includes Ideal Revenue and Nidaros.
This evening at Pompano Park, a trio of trotters in a pair of races look poised for upset scores.

Trained by Dale Gilmour, son of former catch-driver Lloyd Gilmour, Permanent Joy has delivered a handful of good efforts and already sports three wins from eight tries and deserves backing in the top class this evening.
Then two races later in the non-winners of $4751 last five class, longshots Icreditable and She's All In both deserve support across the board and in the exotics. Increditable was a very good second last week, while She's All In was placed third after chasing Lugar in another event, Granted, they only have one win in 20 starts between them this year, but Increditable and She's All In are both sitting on big efforts this evening and both will be 10-1 or higher at post time.
